Sellers is not a guy you plug in for a team that's on the verge of competing for a title.
Miami won't be on the verge of competing for a title next year

#1 attribute for a QB, imo, is ability to hit open receivers. Sellars misses them far too often.Sellers is an elite talent. I haven’t watched many of his games as a whole but you’ll be hard pressed to find a more athletic freak at QB out there.
Need a brain with that working set of eyes. Most football minds would agree sellers has the potential to be a top 5 draft pick and that type of potential is worth every penny when it comes to the QB that leads your team. We have hit on one player like that and kinda missed on beck(he has the same turnover issues he always had at Georgia). But i think Sellers would be the QB with the most potential we have grabbed out of the portal to date including both Ward and Beck.Or they have a working set of eyes
Sellers > NussD$ or Pete, Sellers is intriguing but what about considering pulling Nuss outta LSU??
I was just trying to figure out how we could get another year of Beck, thanks.D$ or Pete, Sellers is intriguing but what about considering pulling Nuss outta LSU??
Whenever I saw his play it was bricking off his receivers hands, at least against Bama. He hit his RB on a check down and the dude handed it to the defender for a pick 6#1 attribute for a QB, imo, is ability to hit open receivers. Sellars misses them far too often.
Are you in our whatsapp group chat? Ha. I wrote almost these exact same words earlier today.People think every athletic qb can learn to be a good passer, or every qb playing behind a bad oline is way more than the stats say. Same **** people tried to do with Milroe before they actually watched him against Michigan.
You could throw on Ward’s tape at Wazzu and see the passing ability despite the bad offensive line. Sellers can’t ******* throw the ball. I couldn’t care less if his stats are good or bad, watch him play.
He’s a ball boy at bestD$ put it into the atmosphere on the Steve Kim podcast session... not sure if there is interest, if this is a good idea or if D$ just wants Miami to finally to get our Treon Harris, Winky Flowers, Torrence Gibson under center ...
Add that we will need a new OC... we'll be hoping to land a QB that doesn't make the cut after Spring Training...
In Emory We Trust.
Ur right in that he doesn't have much to work with but ... even at his best, he's just not a very accurate passer. I see him and Drones as comps. Same types.Whenever I saw his play it was bricking off his receivers hands, at least against Bama. He hit his RB on a check down and the dude handed it to the defender for a pick 6

He has the worse ol in the sec . He is accurate and would be extremely effective here . Rpo with a qb who can actually run . Sand lot style like cam with Dawson 3 play system .His inaccuracy reminds me of Martell and Freeman.
I’m with you. Receivers gotta make a play on theseWhenever I saw his play it was bricking off his receivers hands, at least against Bama. He hit his RB on a check down and the dude handed it to the defender for a pick 6
If Sellers initially puts his name into draft, that'll be the tellThe fact that it's leaking this early leads me to believe it's not going to happen.
We're usually not this preemptive with offseason roster moves. We normally wait until the season is over, Bowl game is played & the 2nd NSD before we really put our focus on Portal additions.
This sounds like an NIL agent putting feelers out there to up the ante for a renegotiation come December-January.
Just my guess though.
I’ve been on this soapbox for way too long lol. I want nothing more than for us to lean into mobile qbs, incorporate read option and a heavy RPO game off of it. But you still have to have a quarterback, not a running back who catches the snap. I understand Sellers gets people going because of the tools, but he can’t play the position and I’m not hoping he turns into something he’s never been in one season at Miami. Are you in our whatsapp group chat? Ha. I wrote almost these exact same words earlier today.
No idea if Sellers can change, improve, or who knows if we'd totally re-architect our offense and become a read-option or zone-read team (mismatched with tight splits?), but for now...like Beck had showed us his tendencies last season, Sellers has shown his tendencies so far. He is currently not a good passer. Everything beyond that is hope.
I’m just gonna give this a big fat LOL and then go about my dayNeed a brain with that working set of eyes.
