Lanorris Sellers to the U next year?

You would need a completely different offensive philosophy, and likely coordinator, to make it work with a QB like that. Furthermore, you would have to give him total control of the offense from the bottom-up, things like blocking scheme, technique, splits, run formations, etc., and we know that ain't gonna happen. Nice clickbait by Mcshay though.

You guys would say "No" to a potential 1st round pick, freak athlete with 2 years' experience playing against SEC defenses? Would you prefer anyone currently on the roster?
He has been baaaaaaaaad this year. Think that's why. Their OL has been horrendous in pass pro the games I have seen, but dude still has been a bad QB this year.

You're telling on yourself.

He's nowhere near a 1st round draft pick as a QB.

Athleticism is supposed to be a plus to being a good quarterback not a replacement for not being able to read a defense, make the right throws, or have a feel for the game.

I don't understand why you and many others would prefer a bad/mediocre QB who can run a 4.5 over a good QB who can't run.

All great points. I just feel like the pendulum keeps swinging wider with each season. Beck represents one extreme — a traditional pocket passer — while the other side favors quarterbacks with mobility and the ability to extend plays. I am probably overvaluing mobility versus arm accuracy.

Even though I really want a QB who is a running threat, definitely go get J Edgar/Vacuum guy over Sellers

You definitely are. It’s also why he, Anthony Richardson, and those like them get coaches and GMs fired in the NFL.

Those freak athletes (that have never shown to be good QBs) would be great IF they can start being a good QB but there’s the rub. Getting a player to suddenly become good at a position they’ve never been good at it is almost always a losing bet.

I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. It’s more just that those who overcome are the exception not the rule. You’d go bankrupt betting those odds before you ever hit it big.

Anyone saying they don't want Sellers is just looking at stats and doesn't realize that South Carolina has an FCS offensive line and a track star leading the wide receiver corp.

one of the worst OL in college football... would be interesting to see what he does with protection. And, he offers Cam Ward type ability in terms of bailing the offense out. Would add another dimension to the run game. I think this would be solid.
Just beat me to it.
