Orgeron got a Natty. Mullen is a very good coach who got the gator to two NYE6 bowl games though he’s a weird dude.

You know neither of those programs would pay Mario close to what it will cost to get Kiffin. I don’t think they’d hire him period in this day and age when NIL is king and coaching skills matter.

I personally don’t ever think UF would ever try to hire a HC away from us because they thrive in their arrogance and they would then have to admit we have something that is better than theirs. This is not Mario-specific.

But no, I also don’t think anyone, including UF, is trying to hire Mario away from us.

He’s not at Oregon. He’s had 4 more years since Oregon and lots of resources in the most fertile recruiting ground in the country to show what he can do. I specifically stated would they be clamoring to pay Mario $13m + per year right now to coach their teams. Nope. Not a chance.

IMO, had he not come here and exposed himself, they would have jumped at him and claimed to have pulled one over on us. Then when caveman ball came into play, they'd say he was doing it on purpose.

I wasn’t trying to fight you guys but I was curious as to anyone who would really take Mario over Lane or pay Mario the money Lane is supposedly being offered and if that’s a thing amongst the upvoters and it’s not for most. Most responses like yours were very reasonable. Only a couple like 17-0 hero are out of their minds.

I think they might have hired him 4 years ago. I do not think they’d hire or LSU would today if buyout wasn’t an issue, certainly not over Lane.

If you covered up our logo, they would pay him the $ cause they're convinced they're a better job.

If he leaves due to an ultimatum, that is on Ole Miss. Fairly big overreaction to "if" at this point, especially if he leaves due to an ultimatum. Big opportunity for his career. Not sure why we begrudge this coach the same opportunity to make a move when others do it all the time.

If I was talking Mario, I wouldn't have said drama and I wouldn't have used the adjective "good".

One positive thing I will say for him is that he does try to adapt. But how long it takes him to realize the need is another thing.

Every serious organization will do a background check on Lane. There will be enough people aware of the BS he pulls behind the scenes and the old white ******* will go for the strict disciplinarian that Mario sells himself to be (especially considering Florida and LSU have major problems in that regard).

I understand the backlash behind Mario, but let's not act as if Lane is the holy servant that manages to win against everyone with sheer focus and utter domination. He's losing games he's not supposed to lose whilst underwhelming in recruiting without a check whilst getting wasted off the field partying with frat girls.

If it were up to me, I wouldn't pick either of the two with the money available. By now, you should be realizing that you asked the slurpers, so I am speaking for them and articulate their view in a manner that they are incapable of reproducing.

And no, I'm not on drugs. I don't count zinc as a drug despite the fact that it emphasizes blood circulation into specific areas. Big pause.

There’s no way they’re convinced he’s the equivalent of kiffin and would pay him that way. Mario has all the resources in the world and couldn’t get to the ACCCG with Cam Ward and that schedule last year. He may not get there this year and probably won’t. He’s not the prototypical coach of demand for this NIL era. Coaching ability is more important than ever.
