Lmao from one of the biggest slurpers out there - a Manny Diaz one at that. Mario would have a lesser record in Lane’s situation. Lane would have had miami in the playoffs last year and this year Mario had the easiest path to the playoff last year and had Cam Ward at QB and he still couldn’t get us to the ACCCG.

Lane will go to the highest bidder that he believes gives him the best opportunity to win a NC. Unlike Mario, he has no ties to any school other than a paycheck.

  • I've heard him say he loves it in Oxford no less than 5x this season. At some point, you just let people talk.. Today he denied any ultimatum ever happening and again reiterated he loves it there.

  • Of course he's not signing the extension mid-season. Maybe it's a distraction but they could've gotten that done in the off-season. He's rightfully keeping his options open & focusing on winning football games.

  • It sounds like you just don't like Lane Kiffin. Fair. He is a smart *** & has made some blunders in the past. Dislike him all you want. Just don't pretend he's doing anything wrong. He's not.

  • Ole Miss is not loyal to Lane Kiffin. They are loyal to his results. A coach shouldn't be any different. Weigh your options and choose whatever is best for your family.

JFC Kiffin missed the playoff with a team that had EIGHT players drafted including a 1st round QB starting currently in the NFL.

Imagine this place if with that roster, we somehow managed to lose to a 3-8 Kentucky team and a .500 gator team to cost us the playoff.

You’d be leading the “Fire Kiffin” chants on here daily.

like I said, he’s a good coach, but give me a break.

I mean, I have my doubts about his ability to win an NC for us too, but Jesus Christ seems like every single post with you is ******* bashing Mario. Has he hurt you that badly? Did he refuse to give you an autograph or something?

Mario is no different than most of these ego driven meatheads in search of the next biggest contract ever. Y su nombre es Mario, no es Santo Mario de Cristobal Colon High Eschool.

I liked that comment because I think ethics have all but vanished from sports. I don't expect people to live like saints, but I do think it's in these people's (coaches, players, school officials and admins) best interests to keep in mind the optics they create for their customers.

There was an episode with Keith Hernandez and Kramer was spat upon....they sort of spoofed it against the JFK shooting alleging there was a "second spitter" behind the bushes.

Also, I was in college when Seinfeld was a hit. I hated it at the time, so I get where you're coming from. Then about 2 seasons before it ended, I got into it. Same thing kinda happened to me with Family Guy. Thank God that one is still pumping out new episodes.

My thumbs up was in agreement to his ***** moves he’s making. He has shown to have, at least eventually, a circus around him everywhere. I do feel as well with the extra curriculars around the city of Miami compared to Oxford only amplifies that.
As far as a game day coach, Lane is hands down better, but he loses just as many head scratchers as Mario, so perhaps that’s closer to a wash.
As far as building a program, and sustaining, I’d choose Mario every time.
When it comes down to it, all Mario has to do to be ultra successful here, is back away and let his coordinators do what they’re paid for and just be the CEO.
Not sure if I fully answered your question, as it’s not as cut and dry as yes/no, so to speak.

Good answer. I agree with much of it. I don’t think Lane walks away from the playoffs. That would make no sense. If someone wants him for $13 or $17 M per year, they’re willing to wait for ole miss to run its course.

Yeah it was around when I was in school as well. I had my own ****** dramedy going on in my own life… I didn’t need to watch his 🤣

TrumpyCane to play devil's advocate

Lane had Jaxson Dart and a WR who went 2nd round plus Walter Nolan who went 1st and a CB who went 2nd round

They lost to a 2 win Kentucky team and with the playoffs on the line scored 3 points in the 2nd half losing to UF

Feel free to check TrumpyCane's posts when Manny was fired, TrumpyCane wanted Lane but people make him out to be some coaching savant when he also has warts

Not sure why people get so upset, Mario isn't leaving anytime soon and Kiffin will never ever coach here

People can debate whether they'd be fine with it or not. I know my answer.

I pretty much agree. He’s a better coach than Mario. Some people talk about Kiffin in ways they wouldn’t criticize Mario for similar things.
