Lane sets August announcement

Still don't agree with the notion that we are "set" at WR

Just watch this season and i think you will agree. Havin 2 all acc caliber WR starting in Scott and Dorsett with 2 years left and with a game breaker inHerb Waters and the best WR in FL last year in Stacy Coley and a proven guy in the slot in Malcolm Lewis should show you. Not even counting a 6'6 athletic beast coming in Jan in Griffin with Dixon, Braxton Berrios, and Langham coming in next season.

Whether people "Get It" or not, not getting Lane does not make or break our class. I don't think it even puts a dent in it. We will pick up another good recruit and next year after we re-establish ourselves, we will have the pick of the litter, making missing out on Lane even more of an after thought.

gator who cares get dixon and more DT and DE good luck to the kid but whatever

This staff has been recruiting it's *** off this cycle! I wouldn't be surprised to see Lane and QW commit! You just never know what these kids are thinking.

That's all fine and well but you are making cardinal recruiting error #1. You are counting your commits before they are here.

Griffin should be here, but he isn't....yet.

Berrios and Dixon are Cane leans but they aren't committed and certainly aren't on the roster.

If it plays out the way you posted and we hope, then yes we are just fine, but I'm not willing to go down that road just yet. Seen that movie too many times.

Setting up for the best troll job of all time. Lane announces for UM, Quincy, not wanting to let his high school sweetheart get away, accepts a full scholarship from the UM drama school, and Chad Wilson comes out of the closet later that afternoon.

Mark it.

My meltdown will have nothing to do with being surprised or being mad at The Don. It'll be about a local guy spurning the local school of which I am a proud alum just like it was with Magic Chef Michel.

No worrries. If he wants to come compete with a badass unit of WR's and be a Cane then welcome.

If not. Sorry, but eat a ****. It is what it is. I got no love for Gators or Bammers.

Lane is FAR from a Randy Moss-type WR prospect that can take over games and make opponents go into convulsions. He's not even as good as the guy we just signed who was smart enough to put on the SWAG hat. He's a good WR with good size with far from elite physical measurables. Guys like him, despite all the hype, are available all the time.

I definitely didn't say he'd make or break the class. But you can't miss on folks like Lane if y'all wanna be runnin around screaming "we back we back." THESE are the players you get to build an elite team.

Dorsett only went over 50 yards last season 4 times, all against **** teams and we put up 40+ in all those games.
Hurns didn't do jack passed the BC game last year
Waters had ONE game, a 40-9 beat down on usf. Didn't catch more than 2 balls in any game other than that the rest of the year.
Like Malcolm a lot and Scott seems like he will emerge as the most consistent one.
Love Coley
Griffin ain't here yet (holding breath), let alone langham, Dixon or berrios

That's not "stacked" or "set" if you ask me. Just keeping it real

What has Scott shown us that makes you think he is an All Conference type player? Do I think he is talented, absolutely but not All Conference, not saying he can't get there but he is not a top 6 WR in the ACC.

This reminds me of how UM fans basically held a gun to their heads when Deonte Thompson signed with UF and we had to 'settle' for Travis Benjamin. LOL

Similar scenario this year, because I feel Dixon will be better than Lane.

Scott finished with over 500 yards of rec and 4 tds while being suspended for the final 3 games against teams we scored 40 on each game with Duke, UVA, USF. He could of easily had almost 800 yards rec and 7ds. He was leading the team in rec before missing the last 3 games. Dorsett still finished with over 800 yards rec while having a 3 game slump in the middle of the season. He would of been all acc had he been decent in those games. He was 3rd in the conference in rec during the mid point in the season well on his way to ALL ACC as a 1st year starter and true soph.. Waters didn't play much until the final few games because of Scott's suspension and in both the USF and Duke games he scored and had long td receptions and finish both games with over 80 yards rec and over 100 in the USF game. Hurns has been the most consistent WR when healthy and had a good game in the NC State game and UVA. He still had 4 tds rec and didn't play in 2 games down the stretch do to injuries. Griffin and Coley are top 40 players and will be studs here. We are set at WR and will have an ALL ACC WR this season out of Dorsett or Scott..

I think if someone in our WR group ends up better than Lane its going to be Langham. That dude is ready to blow up.
