Lane Kiffin is realistic (info).

Can someone list for me Lame’s numerous accomplishments?

Not saying he's had a HOF career yet, but he's done pretty well for a guy in his mid forties IMO:

*Turned a losing TENN team into a winning team that went to a bowl in one season.

*Modernized the Alabama offense and won the NC there as OC.

*Inherited an FAU program that went 3-9 (.250) in each of the three seasons that preceded him, improved them by 8 wins in year one, and won 11 games in a season twice in next three years.

*Inherited a losing 4-8 (.333) Ole Miss team and improved them to .500 and a bowl appearance while trying to install a new offense and defense while losing over half his practices to Covid.

*In year 2 has Ole Miss at 8-2 (.800) and alone in 2nd placed in the SEC West, and will be favored in their last two games to get to 10-2 in the hardest division in CFB. His only losses have been @Bama (#1) and @Auburn (#18). He beat Arkansas (#13) and TAMU (#11). Of course the Egg Bowl will mean a lot, but it won't define him win or lose.

Not bad I say. I think the jury is still out as to whether he can be an elite recruiter though, which while I think we'd be fortunate to land either, I prefer Mario. Note that Lane was recruiting coordinator while at USC when he was a very successful OC there.

What we really really need now is stability. We need an ace recruiter who is gonna come in and build the trenches the right way. Mario comes for 5-7 years and our depth will be incredible. In those 5 years, we will get a natty because the ACC is there for the taking.

Lane would leave after 3 years without a natty and our D recruiting would severely drop. Lane might shock with a natty next year, but Mario would be building a dynasty ala Bama.

Outside of a couple of notable exceptions, could our current D recruiting be any worse?

Lane is 8-2 and has one of the top offenses in the nation at OLE MISS, in a much more competitive conference, and won 10 and 11 games in 2 of his 3 seasons at Florida Atlantic, not to mention won the Outback bowl last season and won a natty at Bama, and people are gonna poo poo this? You’re right, we should hire another “Miami guy” cuz huffing farts from the Ronald Reagan era has gotten us so far.

Literally not a single coach in Miami’s history has stayed for a long period. Other then the ones we have to pay to leave lol

Kiffin just took on Jimbo and a more talented TAMU squad and won. If Manny Diaz had coached UM against TAMU, the Canes would have lost 135-0.

Re-proving your ignorance and lies. If you were actually ignoring me, you would not have seen my post.

You are worthless and weak.
You are always talking down to everyone on the board. Take it easy. Please list coaches you would rather have then Lane, since he clearly is down on your list?

Not that our whole season is riding on the game in CS next year, but I believe it was you who said Lane gives us best shot there next year moreso than Mario...and I agree. Short term Lane, long term Mario. I’m stoked w either, personally.

I agree. Splitting hairs. I think Mario would need both unless I’m missing something

Just FYI, Taggart hired Mario as Co-OC/Run Game Coordinator. I'm not saying he was the GOAT Co-OC, I'm just saying that he does have a bit of background on the OC side. As a younger HC, he should probably delegate the OC stuff though and focus more on CEO and recruiting stuff, which he seems to be really strong at.

I mean, TimeBum, that's just what TAM does to people. Our guys played their hearts out. Just giving y'all the post 9/17/2022 presser tidbits if Diaz stays.

Its been 6,7,11 for his first three full cycles according to 247

His first full cycle was 2018, when he was not in the Top 10. And before protesting that he "just got hired as HC", he was on the staff for a full year prior to signing the 2018 class. Again, not taking anything away from him, it was a transition year, but let's not pretend that he first landed in Eugene a few weeks before National Signing Day.
