That he might leave us if a better job comes along. End of list. What are the downsides of Lane Kiffin?
My thought is if he is able to get a better job, that means he's done something right at Miami. You make this hire.

he would go as hard recruiting as MarioLane would be a good splash hire but his defense scares me. Love the flashy offense he would bring but if we see a defense that is no better than Manny's, I don't think the honeymoon would last very long.
Probably because LSU has pretty much made it clear they want Lincoln Riley.Unless Kiffin is playing for a raise, which why use Miami and not LSU, I don’t see a benefit in doing this. Ultimately Miami’s people and Kiffin’s people have talked and it’s being used to force Mario’s hand.

Pretty much. And I believe they do it because they are certain Mario will say no.Unless Kiffin is playing for a raise, which why use Miami and not LSU, I don’t see a benefit in doing this. Ultimately Miami’s people and Kiffin’s people have talked and it’s being used to force Mario’s hand.
I am being real. So wait... your point is that we aren't going to be able to easily replace the great Lane Kiffin if we lose him after three year... but also he sucks because his former players aren't huge fans of his. LOL.
If Lane leaves for bigger pastures it will mean he crushed it here, Miami is a perennial top 10+ program again, we will have a three year track record of having shown a major financial commitment to football, and our next HC hire will be a walk in the park. We will have 10x the leverage we have now.
Probably not one except he’d probably leave in a short time. What are the downsides of Lane Kiffin?
People act as if Kiffin cant recruit lol.he would go as hard recruiting as Mario

It's a fair critique but I believe he would've stayed at USC until an NFL came knocking again. I think the same could apply here. He's showing that his own "quality of life" is an issue as he could've been a god in Tennessee. I don't see him leaving "blue water" for State College, PA or Columbus, Ohio or Norman, Oklahoma and he's already shown a certain level of disdain for most SEC locales- even beautiful Tuscaloosy.
didnt say that. Mario is just a maniac when it comes to recruiting. he will be at schools at 6 am waiting for doors to openPeople act as if Kiffin cant recruit lol.
Well, Kiffin brings entertainment value. No doubt about that."Okay well what would you like me to do, coach?"
Probably not one except he’d probably leave in a short time.
That's the point. He has to have success first. Something we have not had here in a long time. All of you that want lane…don’t you see? He’s a mercenary, if he does come here and has any sort of success, he WILL leave for a better job as soon as it opens. He’s proven that every place he’s gone.
I’d counter and say Miami is all in on Mario. The point is who would force Ole Miss to open the checkbook up more? Division rival or a team you never play?Probably because LSU has pretty much made it clear they want Lincoln Riley.
