Lake Osceola

Lake Osceola was given its name in 1929 by University of Miami's Iron Arrow Honor Society in honor of Seminole tribe leader and significant Floridian historical figure.

Fsu did not adopt Chief Osceola as a "mascot" until 1978. Once again little bro copying us

Did not know that at all. Thanks for the History Lesson.

I guess Little Brother will always be Little Brother in the State.

In the spirit of the ways colleges have renamed their mascots, Hawk Lake seems appropriate. Or as Dartmouth College did, and probably appropriate for the algae count, Big Green.

We referenced the Lake as "The Lake" or "Lake O".
Not a big deal, but on one of the most beautiful Campus' in College, The name is not as important as the setting.

Does anything think it is time for a name change? Chief Osceola was a Seminole born in Alabama and is the name of the Florida State mascot.
maybe they should just fill the lake in with dirt and build dorms while they are at it....just kidding!
