While there are clear moral and ethical issues beyond football with regard to Courtney Smith, it's not a fireable offense unless someone can demonstrate a dereliction of duty on Urban's part. So if Herman wanted to do Urban he'd have to do better than blowing the whistle on Courtney Smith, IMHO.

True. No way Herman would think his tip ends Urban. Definately would have to know it would seriously wound him and his reputation. Also hurts Ohio State program.
 
If true, I like herman even more! * can burn in **** for all I care! Fake national champions doing anything they can to keep a recognized scumbag in power. They aren't a victim of anything other than their dirty tactics coming back to haunt them.

Wow, all I can say is that I am glad Miami is in no way in this mess. Actually, I am delighted to see tOSU on the hot seat because of the holier-than-thou attitude of both their HC and administration -attitude very much like what Penn State USED to have prior to the ped issue.

So we got into discussion in another thread about libel and proving actual malice. This is one of those rare cases where I think a plaintiff could conceivably prove it. If during Snoke's "investigation" he learned that Smith went public because of the prompting of someone other than Herman (which I think is a near 100% certainty), yet also claims that he wrote his article based on a rumor he heard that Herman was responsible, then Snoke will have to explain why he decided to publish the one rumor about Herman over the other. This is how you can get to "reckless disregard" for the truth. Court allows a plaintiff to inquire into the state of mind of the defamer, what he knew, when he knew it, whether he knew of other rumors contrary to what he published, and if so, why he decided to publish one set of rumors over the other (court has to allow it, otherwise there is literally no way to ever prove actual malice). And even if true that Herman was behind it, claiming that he did so ONLY because he was bitter about recruiting is a terrible slam on Herman's character. I hope Herman sues this Ohio State hack into Bolivian.

Taint fans and their friendly local reporters trying everything to save Urb. No wonder so many victims stay quiet. First, they relentlessly trash the victim.

Now they’re making up “revenge” scenarios where opposing coaches are trying to take Urb down. They’ll have Urb painted as the victim soon enough. That is a really sick part of the country with the hardcore prevalence of meth addiction.

Oh yea I forgot that journalists never lie. What’s your point? McMurphy has a journalism degree from Oklahoma State and he’s saying Herman isn’t his source. So one of them is lying. I don’t know why everyone is assuming Snook is telling the truth or that his sources are legit. Herman actually wrote a piece with evidence backing up what his sources were saying. What has Snook provided?

He denied being the source but confirmed the wife being close friends and the financial and legal help.

We have been over this earlier but no connection to Maryland connection to Durkin. Look this is obviously tongue and cheek speculation on my part. Two men he has worked with are being investigated weeks apart. One is a big recruting rival and the other whooped him at home with a 4th string qb in the game. Will also play 2 more games over next two years. Could it be a coincidence? Absolutely...
