Oklahoma 2000 led the nation in yards allowed per pass attempt. That was the dominant trait on that team and led to the championship upset as 11.5 point underdog. Only twice in 13 games did Oklahoma allow above 50% completion rate.

The offense averaged more than 34 rushes per game, and that doesn't resemble a Mike Leach Air Raid at all. I would argue that the Sooners never win that title if Leach hadn't departed for Texas Tech after the 1999 season. Leach always finds excuses not to run the ball, while blowing pivotal games. Oklahoma gave away the 1999 game at Notre Dame as Leach was out rushed 56 attempts to 14. Oklahoma led 30-14 early in the third quarter yet finished with 14 rushes. Classic Mike Leach masochism.

Always was an interesting hire. 6-6 college coach to head coach of the cardinals. Would have been interesting to see him be the OC at usc tho cause that was the gig he got before Arizona came calling. Just another team tryna catch the Sean mcvay lightning in a bottle

Wayne, Santana and Dre would've ripped that OU secondary up....I have absolutely no doubt...FSU played them without their #1 WR Snoop Minnis....

Oh, I am. Those B12 teams--especially KSU, OkieLite, Baylor, UH, TT--with that high octane offense. If they had great defenses to match and consistently had offensive production throughout the season we would have had more B12 representation in the playoffs. They seem to always lack on the defensive side of the ball--or with OkieLite as of late their offense seemed to have completely imploded on themselves.

How does this guy keep getting OC jobs? He has done nothing but lead mediocre offenses his entire career.

That was 01/2002...not 2000/2001 when our WR corps would've ate up OUs secondary...just like in 85,86, and 88 when Irvin and company ate up OUs vaunted secondary.
