He's a solid dual threat QB, limited arm talent but is a big bodied physical bruiser as a runner.

I'm not sure he'd necessarily be an elevating factor; if we used him how Kendal Briles used him then we might have something. But I would suspect the Offense would remain fairly conservative with KJ because he leaves a lot to be desired as a passer in terms of making full field reads.

He'd be a QB that Mario loves, similar to what he had with Anthony Brown, he would help out the run game a lot, so if we're leaning into being a run heavy Offense he's a great fit.

But if we're looking for a QB that can put the team on his back & lead us to a 10+ win season & carry the Offense, I'm not so sure he's capable of that.

I would imagine he's a take if we miss on other options.

I think a lot of teams are going to find out in short order that these portal prima donnas, especially at the QB position, are going to cause more problems than they are worth.

I guess I'm not seeing the "can't complete a forward pass" thing with him. Just fired up some YouTube of him and saw a lot of deep posts, 15 yard outs, corner fades etc. Didn't seem to be run-first when the play broke down - lots of busted play easy yards. Yeah he's a big dude that can run but to paint him as a rich-man's Jacurri Brown is just disingenuous.

we need to win next year and 1) cam ward and 2) kj Jefferson help us do that more so than anyone else currently available in the portal (assuming howard is gone to USC)

Malachi nelson has the arm talent, but are we trusting him to not turn the ball over and win games in his first true action? Dante Moore agreed to sit and develop and Oregon didn't trust him to be qb 1 this year.
