"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to DMoney again."
That poor decision by the staff damaged our relationship with the best local program and cost us a freshman All-American player.
You need to slow you're roll on the Freshman All-American comments.
Kirkland was 3rd team G in one publication (6 Guards were chosen) and in the major conferences there were probably 20 Freshman that played G that actually played enough minutes to even qualify. He wouldn't have even seen the field on our squad last year.
So, you're saying he was a JAG that wasn't worth a 'ship?
PS: We were *** raped on NSD.
The Kirkland situation last year was a disaster. I hope the staff has learned from it.
They misevaluated Kirkland when most amateurs on here could tell you he was a monster. Because they weren't high on him, they forced him to commit on the spot rather than NSD.
Ice Harris, correctly, stood up for his player and said "Why are you giving my All-American an ultimatum when you are waiting for eight other kids on NSD?" The saddest thing is that Kirkland would have been a Cane.

Fine but I know there will be posters ripping Golden if a Thomas flips. What else could he have done? Let me guess. It is because he didn't fire D'Onofrio?
LOL, except isn't it interesting how the whole situation came to a head when Coley was hired? Coley knew what was up, told AG that neither of the BTW kids were going to Miami, and Barrow went to call them on it.

Then why didn't they give Thomas an ultimatum? The truth is they didn't like Kirkland and they treated him different than their other top targets. Huge mistake.
Kirkland didn't even end up at FSU, so whatever Coley tipped them off to didn't pan out. Kirkland should be a Cane. If he was here, he'd be starting on next year's line.
No, read it again. Coley told AG that neither of the BTW kids were going to Miami....which indeed did pan out. Kirkland and Thomas were never going to Miami. Keep defending enemies of the program though.

Golden was ripped by some last year for pulling scholie from Kirkland if he didn't stop playing games. I guarantee the same posters are saying the opposite this year about Chad Thomas. I'm not sure who is more fickle these south Florida prima donnas who don't stick to their word or some of the posters on here.

But you didn't answer the question. Why did they give Kirkland an ultimatum, but not Thomas? Or Keith Bryant, for that matter.
All sides almost certainly could've handled the situation better than they did, but Ice Harris went public with bashing the program instead of going to the staff for answers. Genron does the same. But those two guys get defended here? Why?
I'm not defending the staff but if Kirkland was going to be a Cane why didn't he tell them that when they asked?
Can't speak for him, but I believe he wanted to make a signing day decision like Gus, Coley, Grace and all the other kids we were waiting on. Once the offer was pulled, he told people that he was likely going to pick Miami.

Ice Harris defended his own program. A team that happens to be the best high school team in America. I want winners like that in Coral Gables.
