Kirby out for season.

Just got through reading in the palm beach post and the Miami herald that Kirby is going in for major knee surgery on Wednesday. They also mentioned that the injury is career ending, that effing sucks for a senior to go out like that. Praying for that dude mang.

Medical redshirt? He will miss more than half the games technically...

He's played in 6 games. No medical waiver for him.

The student-athlete must not have competed in more than 30% of the season or three contests, whichever is greater.

I guess this is where he'll fail to meet criteria for sure.

If there ever was a rule in need of a modernization..... 3 games....lmfao.

Seriously. Why not just allow a kid to have eligibility for a set amount of games instead of the meaningless year figure and cap it at 5 seasons? That'd prevent redshirts from being stupidly burned if a kid only played sparingly as a true freshman due to a coach's stupidity.

Sucks for the kid, terrible way to end your senior year. Hope he has a quick and full recovery.

Good idea, except teams don't play the same number of games. A kid playing at a school that never goes to a bowl could have a max opportunity of 48 games in 4 years. While a guy on a perennial contender might have 56 or so.

Still, I like the idea.

Agreed. I'm just for opening up that 5th year of eligibility outside of the redshirt parameters based on total games played and not calendar years/seasons. The faux academics at the NCAA could easily justify it too by just saying that your average regular student takes more than 4 years to graduate now anyway. Why shouldn't a kid like Kirby get another season to improve/establish his draft stock by getting to play in at least an equivalent amount of games as other kids graduating this year?

Dallas Crawford to MLB.

He would still be the slowest at that position as well, thats some crazy ****

yall ninjas gon sit here and act like yall dont remember Fentress lining up at LB here...lmao

hes the same size as dallas

He is faster and made more plays than Dallas and he brought us corn elder....

i aint asking what he did...im talking about this staff playing a 5'9 190 kid at lb...theyve doneit before.

I give Fentress props all the time for his recruiting prowess and his special team work

Maybe we'll be forced to play more of a DB heavy defense if we keep losing LBs.

Strike that, we'll just move more DTs back into coverage
