Or they had no choice but to go back

It can be both.

It's obvious at this point that it isn't easy to work with Mario. That's blatantly obvious at this point.

I would also say that it seems likely that Smith knew he wouldn't be here long if his family never joined him here. If that's a fact and not something someone made up. He would've known that right away which is scary when you think about it.

So that's now Smith, Addae and Gattis that either did something ****** or have rumors flying that they weren't well liked.

Terrific job putting that first staff together.

Usually if there's problems in a workplace and everyone but the boss is labeled the problem, then the reality is that the boss is the main issue. He couldn't get his players or coaches to believe in the process if what some are saying is true. That's on him, not them.

wasn't smith well liked. cribby said he was one of the most well liked people on the staff and before coming here. he also landed two great classes at RB along with Parrish as a transfer

RB play was very meh

Recruiting definitely was underwhelming for a young and upcoming guy with recent NFL success…

RB and TE coaches should be ace recruiters who not only kill it for their room but help others close.

I don't know. Check this thread. All of sudden Smith had no choice but to go back to Ole Miss and people didn't like him here.
