Kevin Olsen next year

Is there any chance that he is our **** Winston or Johnny Handcock? Continuing the trend of a Rs Fr QB in the Heisman hunt.

No, its not likely IMO. Both those guys were incredibly impressive from the day they stepped on campus, and were only afforded a redshirt because there was an excellent and capable QB ahead of them.

The fact that Golden had to publicly criticize Olsen already, his police incident back in NJ, and some other small stuff would make me very skeptical about whether he is that once a year type guy. I hope he ends up being an excellent QB, but right now thinking he has the total package as a freshman is really taking a blind orange and green tinted leap of faith.

Yes. Without question.

I agree. It's important to remember that both Manziel and Winston had to win close QB competitions before they got the starting job. True, nobody is anointing Olsen right now, but it's just too early to rule him out at this point.

I don't see him surpassing Williams next year. Even if they are even, I think Williams still gets first shot.

Granted Winston was a 5 star and the best QB prospect in 2012 but your wrong about Johnny football. He was a 3 star that was not highly recruited. He wanted to go to Texas but they did not offer or they refuse to accept his commitment (can't remember) so he fell into a great situation at A&M and excelled. Kind of similar to the QB situation that Olsen is in right now.

BTW the police incident involved a ONE car traffic incident. He's not a bad kid. Golden lit a fire under his *** to get him going and it worked. He's now our third string QB and is on the travel squad. The best thing for this program is if Olsen wins the job next year. With our receivers and our running game it is very possible to pull out a 10 win season with him next year. This would set up a big 2015 season where we will make our run at the BCS NC.

He wont start next year

Gonna be a good battle regardless, and the Williams/Olsen threads will be flowing like a river for months.

I am going to stick with my original prediction and say Olsen pulls the upset, but I am very very encouraged by what I have seen from Williams this year. To be honest I didn't think much of him at first, but in typical Al Golden fashion, he is a lot ******* smarter than I am.

Kevin Olsen and Jameis Winston are not comparable.

Olsen is a good prospect, Winston might be the 1st overall pick in the 2015 Draft. C'mon now.

Williams is gonna start next year and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a redshirt freshman Kaaya beats out a redshirt sophomore Olsen in 2015.

Agree.

Eager to see how the battle plays out.

Jameis Winston is interesting because his arm talent doesn't suggest sure-fire #1 overall pick.

But he's accurate, and he has really good intangibles.

I haven't seen much of Olsen, so it's impossible for me to see if he has those characteristics.

No one is comparing the 2 skill wise. We are just saying that Olsen can excel as a RS frosh next year just like Winston is doing this year.

Build our D-line, O-line and LBS we can win a NC with Olsen. Just see AJ McCarron and BAMA as an example.

Olsen was on the bus to UNC while Crow was left at home. That says Olsen is already starting to make his move.

That is was I was gonna say, wait and see about Kaaya.

What arm talent are you referring to? Hate the Noles, but his arm talent is elite.

If he was flashing that much talent in practice, we'd have heard about it, no? There would be rumblings, etc. I don't think he has that type of upside, based on what I've seen, which is admittedly limited.

This post made me lol

He's accurate, but he doesn't have a cannon. He's got good enough arm strength, though.

We didn't go after Kevin to appease Greg, or to help him out so he could grab some offers. We recruited him, because he is a **** good QB. So yeah, he could be as good as either of those guys come next season.

Dude we all hate fsu as much as you do but what the **** are you talking about?? Dudes got a cannon. He just understands better than most when to let it rip and when more touch is needed.. dudes legit as much as I hate to admit it but he is the likely 1st overall pick in the 2015 nfl draft as of now
