"Look, the world has changed, and I'm going to blame the NBA," Diaz said. "Once Kevin Durant went to the Warriors after they were 3-1 up when he was at Oklahoma City — kids want to go where the winning is."

Sorry but it's ALWAYS been this way.

Kids have always preferred going with a winner....it didn't start with Durant.

I think/hope he was just joking

I didn't hear it, but hopefully it was a tongue in cheek comment. He wasn't serious, right?

All kids want to win now. Durant had to leave a team to do it. Kids getting recruited have free choice between the schools. Who wouldn't want to go to a winner? That said, Miami can win enough this year to get kids on board again.

Do you guys think he was really going to say “look at that crap the Heat pulled”?

I blame Eli Manning for refusing to go to the Chargers in the Draft. And Obama. And Bush.

That triumvirate singlehandedly created an atmosphere that set University of Miami Football back almost 2 decades now.

Doesn't sound like a joke to me since he followed up on the original statement.

The premise is valid, the example is poor.

Free agency is what really changed things.

Look I wish lebron would shut up outside out of basketball but you can’t compare lebrons move to Durant’s

Durant joined a team that he was
- 73 and 9
- a team he was up 3-1 on
- a team with already 3 all stars and one mvp
- Durant openly uses burner accounts

Lebron
-joins a .500 team that finished in the middle of the pack in a relatively weak east team.

My point is don’t blame lebron, Kevin Durant is a mental midget compared to lebron
