Kendrick Norton waived by Panthers

Norton seems to have been a product of RJ. We need kids to start staying until they graduate unless they are bonafide first round picks if we want to compete with the big boys like Bama or Clemson

bark louder than his bite. I dont care about these golden kids. Clemson has savages returning for their senior year. uga had a ton do same last year. thats why they win. these kids are not winners.

The bag game isn’t just for recruiting new blood. It’s akso used to keep talent from leaving early too. Plus the massive insurance policies taken out help as well. It’s a very complexed system

That's tragic. I have no problem with kids leaving early if they are guaranteed high draft picks (no worse than 2nd round). In fact, I would encourage them to take the money and not risk injury. However, leaving early to be a 5th or 7th round pick isn't smart.

I dont think his career is over and hope he will get picked up for a practice squad. It’s a shame he left early. He should have listened to the honest ethical UM staff who had his best interest in mind and had encouraged him to stay.

Now on a completely unrelated note, we should put a bag together to convince Pete, Malik and the rest of the scumbags over at 8th Round Management to go sign underclassmen at Clemson, UGA and Baga.

You should care cause they play their *** off while here...... unlike your sorry piece of **** ***

Nah man. Its different with me. Im different than all of those other guys. I KNOW Im going to make an NFL roster. My agent knows whats up. He wouldn't lie to me. I mean, why would he want to rep me if he thinks Im going to get cut. He wouldn't make anything on that deal. Right???

It's sad but true that those very same words get repeated by some misguided players every year.

Players make these decisions for various personal reasons .....then the reality of competing against the very best of the best hits them afterwards.

At the very least, imo you should be close to getting your degree if you're considering leaving,

As with every Cane I wish him well.

Kids go back to clemson and uga bc they are getting paid to play there. The kids themselves have said it. Until we start playing the game this will continue to happen.

We've been over this. No matter how corrupt you think certain programs are, there has never been a college player getting bags filled with first round money to stay in school.

Nah Brad didn’t start this, that’s more of the Shannon group that started making these horrible decisions.
Been happening for years. Back in '85 we had undersized but All-American TE, Willie Smith. A 212 lb. TE who was a converted WR from Jax as well (no theme suggested). Willie left early which ****ed off Jimmy Johnson no end. Jimmy kind of threatened him by saying "Don't forget your little problem here." Speculation was that Willie flunked a drug test and would come back to haunt him.

Well, Willie left, and was never heard from again. I'm not sure by staying, though, that another year would have helped him. Not much room for a 6'2", 215 lb TE even in mid-80's. But he was very productive for us, catching a lot of passes from Testaverde. I suspect Norton might not go farther in the NFL had get waited a year but he could have helped us. It was still not a smart decision.

So, what does he walk away with? Few hundred thousand? Maybe a bit more?

Dunno, maybe he could have improved his stamina and strength, enrolled in a few advanced guitar classes over in the music school, developed a fall-back other than HS coaching which is where so many seem to end up. (Not that there's anything wrong with that...and if guitar is not his thing, maybe switch to bass...there are some superstar bass players in their own right.)

Time for another vocation...Others have done well at it:
