Justin Scott - not hurt

Who is blocking 5 and 99 in 2026? This will be the best DT duo in America. Both have 1st round potential if they keep progressing
I said in the Moten Returns thread that 99 and 5 are gonna have a 3 and 4esque impact in '26. That duo and Wilson are gonna grab all of the headlines while the young edges have an impact comparable to to the DT's this past season...

When people say this, they mean him not being a first round pick during his freshman season already.. In their mind they already had him down as a bust, so he came a long way from that to being productive during true sophmore season..
Yeah seemed like he just needed some S&C which is typical. But his raw athleticism is wild

Remember the punt return against A&M when Toney got tripped up?

I’m like **** that blocker just wasn’t looking…wait that was Justin Scott running **** near stride for stride like…what??

It was all S&C, remember he was a basketball player in high school so he wasn’t much of a weightlifter. In an interview D Lew mentioned that Scott could barely bench 225 when he arrived as a freshman.

I think after another full spring and offseason he is going to explode (pause), I’m talking first team All American top 15 draft pick type of explosion (pause).

If guys stay healthy, this will be the best defensive line from top to bottom in the history of the university of Miami. I know that sounds crazy, with having to replace Bain and Mesidor, and the history of this program, but the proof is on tape. This scheme with these athletes is just a match made in heaven.

Yup! 99 already a grown man! People don’t realize that 5 has been playing football for only a few years. Former basketball player so he’s still gaining weight and strength! True sophomore too that’s young for his age. Expecting a big leap for this kid after he puts in work in the offseason! Just the fact that he won’t be sharing time with anyone next year will boost his performance!

Great interior push just makes the edge rushers look even better
Could arguably say interior pressure is tougher to deal with than edge pressure. They aren’t gonna be bain and mesi because two elite pass rusher who are also two elite run defenders with both having unwavering motors is rare and unstoppable for college teams

But if moten and scott are dominant we can sit in two high on early downs and still stop the run. Or we can dictate where you can run the ball effectively, making your offense more predictable

All ill say about scott and moren is, their pad level is inconsistent sometimes. If they are more consistent there they will both be dominant

Scott and Moten still have plenty of room to develop and Eat better. Hopefully the put in that work and take that next step. Do see any reason why they don’t.

Thing with Wiley he might be bigger than Lightfoot

Could see him used in a lot of ways with what Heatherman was doing
Is he really? Wow was hoping he would be the off ball LB but maybe #22 locks that down now. Lightfoot is so good I think. He flashed a lot this past year. Just don’t want to see Wiley end up like Malik Bryant if he’s like a tweener. Thought Wiley was more of a pure backer but maybe not I guess

The CFP Moten is pretty close to being a finished product in college. On the other hand, he was injured. Imagine him at full go?!

Agree on Scott. We haven't seen the Day 1 guy we were promised. He was more a project than people realized, similar to Samson needed to grow that mustache. Year 3 is when most great players make their move if they're going to, and under D Lew, I fully expect this kid to have a breakout year.

Can Wiley diagnose the play in a split second? If so he can be a heck of a LB.

Other fans are saying our defense will take a major step back losing Bain and Mesidor. I think our d-line will be even better next year as a whole. There’s really no weak points. As long as we stay healthy it’s loaded with studs. Justin Scott and I think Lowe will turn heads this year.
