Justin Fuente next UM coach?

**** no. Duck this Mac garbage. Dude has a record .500 at MEMPHIS. That's worse than Al Golden

Golden was NAC garbage just like Fuente. Hire Furnte and expect more of the same mediocre garbage from this garbage university

Dude, Memphis was one of the worst teams in the country when he got there. They are ranked 18th now. This is not an "Al Golden won a few games a temple and that's good enough" situations. In his 3rd season he got them to ten wins and a bowl win. This season they are riding a 13 game winning streak and have beaten two ranked teams already. Al Golden hasn't even done that at Miami. He's the AAC coach of the year and spanked Ole Miss who spanked Alabama. When he took over Memphis they had players that had no other offers besides FCS teams. He's actually a real coach and should not be compared to Golden because you're too lazy to look up more than his overall record on Wikipedia.

We coulda had Gary Patterson. Now we're gonna have to settle for someone from his tree that is an "up and comer". Fuente very well may end up being an excellent coach but I think most of us are sick of having to roll the dice the last decade plus and it not only come up snake eyes but the pit boss punches you in the face too.

He has a .500 record at Memphis. Garbage.

Yeah and Butch Davis had a .549 record at UNC but there's usually more to the story than that.

Herman comes with a better D.C. and his offense is top notch (not to mention recruiting skills) so he's my top pick but Fuente is an excellent coach so we'd be in great shape. They didn't just luck into a victory vs Ole Miss, they controlled the game with much less talent.

If not mistaken, he took it to Ole Miss last yr too, b4 ultimately losing to them.

No doubt Fuente has the look of a **** good coach. I don't get the comparison some make with Folden because Folden was at Temple and Fuente is at Memphis blah, blah, blah. Folden never had the look of being an up and coming great coach. He coached uninspiring pig swill garbage football as the HC at Temple and as DC at UVGay. I never wanted him to get the job but gave him a fair shot because I didn't think we could end up with a coach worse than Randy. **** was I wrong! Onion would coach circles around Folden. Especially on defense.

For my money, give me Paul Hilton Davis because it's both a great hire and a safe hire. If we must go another route however, give me Herman or Fuente any day. There is no way in **** this administration forks out the dough that would be required to secure Chip Kelly.

We don't need a coach who "does more with less"

Fuente should coach a place like Nebraska, but They ain't gonna hire the dude from ducking Memphis

Miami needs an NFL guy

Fuente is a COACH. I watched that MEMPHIS/OLE MISS game a couple times and one thing that stands out to me is how much more prepared and locked in Memphis was than Ole Miss. Ole Miss was more talented at every position, except QB, but Memphis played better. On offense, they attacked vertically, they made Ole Miss run sideline to sideline, and it seemed like every time a Memphis WR made a play, the announcers were mentioning how under-recruited the kid was. On Defense, Memphis made Chad Kelly look very uncomfortable. This is the same Chad Kelly who ate BAMA's lunch when they played each other. I didnt know much about Fuente before the game but I came away very impressed. He's no Al Golden! Golden is a salesman. Fuente is a COACH! Plus it doesn't hurt that he is from the Gary Patterson coaching tree (a coach they would absolutely kill it at UM).

Ive got Butch, Herman, and Fuente all tied for my #1 pick. Cant go wrong with any of these guys

Comparing Al to Fuente is maybe the dumbest thing I've read here, which says a lot .

Either of y'all can feel free to explain to me how Mike Sherman (an NFL guy) couldn't carry Kevin Sumlin's (Conference USA guy) jock as the HC of Texas A&M ...

Miami needs to hire the best college coach available and willing to take the job. At minimum, Fuente and Herman should be the leading candidates.

Miami doesn't need a Bill O'Brien type hire. What did Penn State win with him? And how did he really help their program?

Rumor on the VT boards is that flubber will announce his retirement shortly and Herman is their top choice.

I don't know if losing 24-3 and being out gained 426-104 could be described as taking it to them.

1. Kevin Sumlin will be coaching in the NFL soon. He's the next Mike Tomlin.

2. Bill O'Brien went 8-4 with a true freshman QB and a depleted roster...... Miami would go 11-1 with him as HC

3. NFL coaches > college coaches
