Justin Fuente: 'I turned down 12 other opportunities...'

I dont think he was good in the first place so im not worried as long as we get butch im str8

You're mistaken. What he did with Memphis was nothing short of amazing. Him and Foster will be pains in our *** for years to come.

Anyone that chooses a program not named USCw or Miami is coward. U come here to win. U go to VT to be mediocre

Lol at turning down 12 other jobs. My guess is that he probably got less than half of that in actual offers. He didn't even get interviewed by Miami

People don't read. Fuente said opportunity to talk, not job offers.

The headline is a bit misleading like a lot of headlines are these days. I am sure its not out of the realm of possibility that Miami or their agents reached out to him and he declined to go any further. Of course he didnt speak to them but I am sure his agent did. Thats fine. Thats part of the semantics games that coaches play these days. "I didnt have any contact with..." but their agent had contact. Doesnt mean he is a bad coach and doesnt mean that Miami isnt gonna get a good coach either. Best of luck to him except when he plays us.

so every coach that turns around a mid-major team is Al Golden now? got it

Man yall sounding like a bunch of females. Pick your balls back up and get it together. Everyone does not dream of coaching UM. He preferred VT over UM. Will not be the first and last coach to do so.

Hopefully we know something this week. But with UGA opening it makes a Butch remarriage even more likely.

The guy had to be talking about 12 jobs over the stint of his memphis career. There's no way he had 12 offers this year because that would mean that basically every school looking to hire called him up and offered him, that didn't happen.

To be fair, one of those offers was his wife asking him if he'd like to go to Red Lobster for dinner last week. This guy clearly plays fast and loose with math. And I thought VagTech was an engineering school.

I'm still surprised he took V-Tech over Mizzou. You have to think that offer was in play and seemed to suit him, and his recruiting roots, much better.

Well VT has had the same coach for 50 years. I'm guessing the longevity of the position is what attracted him along with the fact that the ACC Coastal is the worst division in CFB.

As long as Bud Foster stays, VT will be competitive. After that, it's a crap shoot, because Fuente hasn't been very good at picking a DC.

Did UM even interview the guy. How could Miami be one of the 12 if he didn't get interviewed, unless he's just talking about turning down offers to talk as "opportunities".
