Check this out ...............

Florida State. FSU recently broke ground on a new 100,000-square-foot-indoor practice facility that comes with a price tag of $12.7 million. The program raised more than $23 million for the initiative.

Clemson. The Tigers' new indoor practice facility houses an 80,000-square-foot practice area that includes a full football field with ample sideline space, a fully-functional scoreboard, four play-clocks and a videoboard, that allow for the simulation of a game-day experience. Construction costs were $10 million.

Louisville. The Cardinals' indoor practice facility features a 120-yard FieldTurf field, a 100-meter four-lane sprint track, pole vault and long jump pits, as well as, batting cages for both baseball and softball. It's also equipped for the soccer, field hockey and lacrosse teams to use. Price tag was $8 million.

Syracuse. The Orange just unveiled plans for an 87,000-square-foot indoor practice facility that will house Orange football as well as the other Syracuse varsity sports programs. As the school is building on the site of the current outdoor track stadium, Syracuse also announced plans to build a new track facility.

Unlike some of these other division and soon-to-be division rivals, schools like Florida State, Clemson, Louisville and N.C. State, it's kind of important for Boston College to have an indoor football practice facility. You know, one that can withstand a blizzard.

Let's call it $20 million? Brighton Campus? Your move, BB.

Complain :But we need a Stadium 1st ,you say..
Answer : That not going to happen at least not on the UM campus

Yes I'm born and raisin in MIAMI and lived 5min away from the UM campus ,so I'm
aware of the strict laws in Coral Gables

Why focus on a bubble or Indoor Practice Facility

*Recruiting I see this as add advance in recruiting athletic from baseball to football etc. etc

*Afternoon practice lets face it South Florida is too **** hot ,this is
why our coaching staff choose to practice at 6am in the morning.

*Extra Conditioning yes extra conditioning inside a control environment

* Extra practice player become more willing to practice on their own in Indoor Practice Facility

The positive out weight the negative and a indoor practice facility can leader the Canes into next decade of championships

ANY Rebuttal

Just never understood practicing in air conditioning when the games played in the heat. It would be an advantage for recruiting but we also may lose the edge we have over teams playing at home in the heat.

can't get a stadium on campus but an indoor facility in a tropical climate, makes sense......

no reason for an indoor facility it is a waste of money. You only have a certain amount of time you can practice by the NCAA so this extra **** isnt happening.

Good thing about it is they would be able to practice inside when it's lightning outside. If it's not, practice in the heat and get used to it.

The pussification of football will be complete when the hurricanes no longer practice in the south fl weather.

It makes sense for the sole purpose of being able to practice when the weather is poor. It also helps in terms of recruiting.

Facility can be use for track, baseball ,soccer,Conditioning, Lacrosse not just for
Football (watch the video)

I don't want to practice indoors until we prove we can stay indoors.

?

Maybe I'm crazy ,I believe indoor practice facility promote more and longer practice by the players

yes the dolphins have one as they have space on their property and can practice all year round. we get "20 hours a week" during fall and spring. where would you place this facility on campus when they refuse to build a stadium on campus that would actually bring profit to the university?

"lets face it South Florida is too **** hot ,this is why our coaching staff choose to practice at 6am in the morning."

yes lets practice in AC, and during a game we can have a heat stroke. So we can be known as the team that can't play well in freezing cold as well as a team that can't play in heat.

this is not the north east or middle of nowhere, where it is impossible to practice most of the time because of weather conditions. This is south florida and most of the time its not scorching hot.

I nominate this was one of the worst ideas... ever

and am OK with that !!!

Only if we can reduce the temperature to 30 degrees so that our guys can get used to the cold before playing a road game and not drop the **** ball.

I'm all for it as a fan to boost recruiting, facilities, etc., however looking at it from a management view it makes little sense. This is a team that has won 5 MNC's with middle of the pack at best facilities and our long overdue current upgrades are a testament to that and its clear that is how the folks up top that run Miami see it. Most SEC schools have nice climate but do get some cold weather with snow. Miami doesn't see that weather so why invest in it? Greentree is January is a good as it gets.

The argument about lightning is a valid one but part of the reason the coaches go at 6am is to avoid the typical Miami afternoon storms. To convince a private school to "invest" in a indoor facility so the football team can practice at 3pm compared to 6am is going to be a hard sell, especially with limited space.

Just borrow the Dolphins' facility.

We have done it before.

The only time an indoor facility is useful is during lightning storm. Otherwise, it's better for conditioning to practice outside. The games are played outside, so practice outside.
