Just stop

leaves out wins against Oklahoma, TCU, West Virginia, and Ok St. and doesn’t mention that he hasn’t had a healthy starting QB til this year...

Oklahoma and TCU are better programs in that conference but the others aren't anything to beat your chest over. I'd like to see their teams (see updated original post) play each other.

His record is .500 in the BIG12 over 3.5 seasons.

That said, the existing product at Miami is poor and I remain uninspired by this staff and HC.

Mario won 9 games last year in his first full season at Oregon and is on the verge of winning 10 this season.

He is undefeated in the PAC12 this season at 4-0 and has a .692 overall conference winning percentage after 13 games.

Both have similar records and would probably do well at Miami. Manny has the experience of being around championship football programs as a player and coach at multiple stops.
You can’t use “he’s never won 10 games ever” as a qualifier, than post Mario’s record who has never won 10 games ever either.

Yeah, he’s at Iowa State. There’s some similarities to Mullet at Mississippi State. They’re somewhat the bottom destinations in those conferences. Hard to dominate at those places.

Everyone was better than Iowa State before Campbell. This dude took mostly 2 star talent and beat the juggernaut Oklahoma. He’s a bad fcking dude. No doubt.

That’s a good point also, he’s at a bottom feeder school in a P5 conference. As opposed to Oregon being one of the upper tier schools in their P5 conference

sure I can. Both are on their second HC stints; this is Mario's second year at Oregon (and he will win 10 games this season) and Campbell's 4th at Iowa. Plenty of sample size for the latter and the trend is obvious. That said, re-read the last 2 sentences of my original post.

Stop with this Mario nonsense already and start talking about Matt Campbell.

- overachiever at ISU with wins against Lincoln Riley, Gary Patterson, Dana Holgerson, and Mike Gundy(with his back up QBs because he hasn’t played with his named starter til this year)

- Proven evaluator

- former O-line coach

- has an elite DC in John Heacock

- already receiving NFL interest

- flipped an albatross program in a year

- buyout of 7 mil (3 less than Mario)

Scream to the hills for him like Texas did for Tom Herman and tell the admin to make him say no. Stop with all these other guys until we know he isn’t interested.
I’d be ecstatic to get that guy! ******* ecstatic and his spread scheme would kill it here! But unfortunately we all know that makes to much common sense for UM. We have to be pro set team because we were the first CFB team to every do it way back in 83 and that’s who we have to continue to be, all the while CFB is light years ahead of us as we continue to run an 80s/90s offense. Smh

Dont know why everyone is talking about new coach canidates when Manny is going nowhere this year. Even if a new AD is hired he wouldn't be fired. Unfortunately I think we have two or three years left of Manny.

Really not going to get my hopes up that Manny is going anywhere... but would love to have Campbell or Mario at this point

Checks all my boxes:

Young ✔︎
Never been fired ✔︎
Offensive minded ✔︎ (Oline coach XP huge plus)
Consistent track record of winning against peer competition ✔︎
Competitive against teams with superior talent ✔︎
Not part of a failed regime or overrated due to Miami connection or "Recruiting Prowess". ✔︎

He's on my list

And now you're on my list.

(No, not my **** list)

Good points.

A PLAYER ??? CHAMPIONSHIPS AT MULTIPLE STOPS ??? FFS Were you drunk when you wrote this ?

Where exactly was Manny Diaz around a championship football program AS A PLAYER ? as a matter of fact, which program of any kind was Diaz around AS A PLAYER ?

and for that matter where exactly did he coach on a championship football program ? He was a GRADUATE ASSISTANT
at FSu in 1998 ... being a GA IS NOT COACHING !

Agree with OP on Mario, I was never to crazy about Cristobal & now with the success he's had at Oregon under no circumstances is he coming to Miami.

My top 2 guys are still Norvell or Heupel, but Campbell is a close 3rd for me.

I think he's a great coach & will do well at whatever other program picks him up from ISU, I just don't think he'd be all that interested in coming to Miami. I could be wrong but he just doesn't strike me as the type of coach that would want to come here.

I think he's bound for a B1G job in the near future, my guess is whichever program between Michigan & Mich St that decides to push their HC out will go after Campbell.

Good points.
these points should be on there too :

hates FSu Semenoles and will embarrass those ****ers by at least 3 TDs every year ✔
hates the UiF Gaytors ✔
hates Nutty Dome ✔
a great recruiter and can evaluate talent, will only have raw meat eating dogs on the roster ✔
can keep Miami talent in Miami ✔
can beat Saban and Dabo for blue chip recruits ✔
will never wear a dumbass necktie on the sideline while coaching ✔

I think Campbell is an unbelievable coach, but I’m concerned about his offensive philosophy. Wouldn’t we be getting another pro-style system instead of the spread? If that’s the case, I’m apprehensive about hiring him. I’m so over our slow, lethargic offense. I want to see pace and space.

Jimmy was 30 years ago and the recruiting game is completely different now. back then SFLA wasn't infested with every school in the country the way it is now. Golden and crew also not SFLA guys weren't a fit here either from a connection, understanding and recruiting standpoint.
We ain't paying so they ain't coming.

Take a look at that offense he ran at Toledo when he ate Diaz alive. They were high octane and diverse.

Welcome back my man. I like him but I worry about his recruiting. As long as he is willing to hire coaches that can croot and not get married to any of them he is already a winner
