Havent seen his team play much. What is his offense like?
i think he's fantastic but i worry about him recruiting So Fla.He's a great coach but a Midwest guy
Runs the football, solid unit play upfront, likes to take the top off, uses size on the boundary. Defensively he has one of the best DC in the country IMO in John Heacock, actually very similar to Manny but is more hybrid and does really stunt. They lost to Leach but last year’s bowl game can paint you a pic about the D and their win against Oklahoma can show you the O.Havent seen his team play much. What is his offense like?
Why? He did it at Toledo just fine lol.i think he's fantastic but i worry about him recruiting So Fla.
i didnt say he couldnt. im saying coaching wouldnt be a concern. hes clearly a better coach than manny and he would couldnt do worse at recruiting. Why? He did it at Toledo just fine lol.
just because he doesn’t get 5 * guys doesn’t mean you have to worry. If that’s your benchmark then you’ll never be able to hire anybody at any of these small schools.
Name all our head coaches that were from south fl. Diaz and Shannon only two I can think of and how has their recruiting beeni think he's fantastic but i worry about him recruiting So Fla.
You forgot he also runs an innovative offensive scheme.Checks all my boxes:
Young ✔︎
Never been fired ✔︎
Offensive minded ✔︎ (Oline coach XP huge plus)
Consistent track record of winning against peer competition ✔︎
Competitive against teams with superior talent ✔︎
Not part of a failed regime or overrated due to Miami connection or "Recruiting Prowess". ✔︎
He's on my list
can you blame him there's probably 5 or 6 nfl jobs not worth taking maybe more.Because he turned down that NFL interest. Str8 stiff armed the Jets.
That will likely be tied in with consistently winning against peer teams, but yes, doesn't even need to be innovative but modern scheme. Pace and space. You forgot he also runs an innovative offensive scheme.
Waiting for a Big 10 job. Totally agree. He's a great coach but a Midwest guy
Bro, I'm going to stop talking Scarjo, who is my future wife for another future wife, Emma RobertsStop with this Mario nonsense already and start talking about Matt Campbell.
- overachiever at ISU with wins against Lincoln Riley, Gary Patterson, Dana Holgerson, and Mike Gundy(with his back up QBs because he hasn’t played with his named starter til this year)
- Proven evaluator
- former O-line coach
- has an elite DC in John Heacock
- already receiving NFL interest
- flipped an albatross program in a year
- buyout of 7 mil (3 less than Mario)
Scream to the hills for him like Texas did for Tom Herman and tell the admin to make him say no. Stop with all these other guys until we know he isn’t interested.
Why leave one stepping stone job for another. That's not a shot at Miami. All the most successful coaches we have had recognize if you win here your on your way to an NFL job. Keep hearing people crying about Butch. He used this job for the same reasons. Just left too early. Coker stuck around thinking you manaintain that level of success forever. We need to hire a coach with NFL aspirations. Not a guy at the end of his career or give someone a shot who has no track record. This is not a school to learn on the job.Stop with this Mario nonsense already and start talking about Matt Campbell.

leaves out wins against Oklahoma, TCU, West Virginia, and Ok St. and doesn’t mention that he hasn’t had a healthy starting QB til this year...Head coaching record[edit]
He hasn't won 9 games at Iowa or 10 games, ever.

His record is .500 in the BIG12 over 3.5 seasons.
That said, the existing product at Miami is poor and I remain uninspired by this staff and HC.
