Just for laughs and to stir the pot....

So the coaching staff left Williams on the bench just because? That makes sense.

Actually scratch that, with the rampant dumb****ery these coaches engage in, I suppose it is plausible.

This.

So people have heard it, and it's supposed common knowledge that Williams was better, yet this staff stuck with the kid who was worse and has to run with a stripped down playbook?

Very reassuring to hear.

Agreed. I understand staying loyal to seniors and all. But when your QB is affecting your team's ability to actually win then something's got to change.

Still though, I think Williams will be great as guys like Walford and Sandland will probably be utilized more. One negative is that Dorsett thrived off the fact that Morris could just chuck it 60 yards without effort and Dorsett is faster than 99% of the defenders he faces. Ryan Williams doesn't have that arm and will rely more on precision route running.

I'll buy in why not, right? Even if it's not true, I could really believe them stripping down the offense for Morris. Everyone sees he has the tools, just not the noggin. Who knows...

LOL at the hate filled posters asking why Morris wasn't benched in favor of Williams. I couldn't imagine the ***** fest you sad sack of ***** would have had if that would have happened. But now since it fits your agenda you'll use it as another way to ***** about the staff.

A somewhat long term poster on CS who actually hates Golden, claims that he has gotten info for a "fact" that Ermon Lane is seriously looking at UM. That Lane told the staff that the reason most kids in So Fla were dissing UM was because they think the staff sucks and cant develop players, and that in response, the staff told him, that they had to strip down the offense this year significantly because of Morris. They supposedly told him that Williams knows the whole offense and next year the play book is going to be totally different, and that they are going all in to bring in the best talent possible, including going all in after TV, JC Jackson, and Bo.

This is almost 99% ceretain to be bullsh*t, but this dude is a major Golden hater, so for him to post some of this is odd. What he said about Williams too does resonate a bit, in something some players have told people privately, that RW really knows the whole offense and playbook more than any other QB.

Since its Sunday night and we arent likely to get any major news, and we are in the home stretch of the Recruiting season insanity, I thought I would share this gem for your "crootin" pleasure.

Assuming this is true I would love to be a fly on the wall as Guldens tries to explain our defensive ineptitude to a guy like Travonte Valentine.

I love how Jimbo gets zero credit for recruiting, landing, and developing Jameis. The kid just walked onto their campus in a helmet and asked if he could play, I guess. No credit to Jimbo.

Oh, and before he landed Jameis he won 31 games over 3 years. 10, 9, and 12 games, while going 3-0 in bowl games with a BCS win. 3 straight trips to the ACC Title game and one Championship.

Not bad.

hjonestly the guy who coaches at Aub landed Jameis.....Dameyune Craig...he has his region of ALABAMA on lockdown recruiting wise....it was sort of a similar Coley-Yearby connection their...

So this guy gets to, admittedly, attempt to stir the pot with unsubstantiated lies and he gets to roam free and insult posters. MiamNights, while a **** in his own right, gets the permaban from posting because the "masses" here cannot deal with the way he delivers the message.

He's been right all along.

Why should he be banned for being right?

Sorry man but I call BS on all of this. None of it jibes. Lane ain't coming and let's stop making Morris out to be Daniel Steagall.

Everyone seems to remember the Ryan Williams we saw vs Savannah State in mop up duty. Everyone seems to forget the Williams we saw in a do or die situation vs UNC. Both are unfair situations to evaluate him for next season.

I think the best realistic situation we can hope for is that our RBs get healthy. And stay healthy. Couple this with a beastly and deep offensive line, if he can get first downs by spreading the ball around to our playmakers and limit mistakes then we can improve from last season.

people say virtually every year that we have a "beastly" offensive line, and then we start playing, and can't seem to get two yards in 3rd/4th down or goalline situations. that said, i hope you're right.

Well this staff is known to be very loyal ala Gaines, highsmith, Rodgers, cornellious, green getting playing time over players that are clearly better than them.....
I wouldn't be surprised. The truth is that the offense was dimmed downed for Morris tbh. We ran the same plays because he can't throw across the middle of the field or throw short routes very well.

Stephen Morris was not good, terrible footwork & touch. He only had offers fron Central Michigan, FIU, & Purdue before Mark Whipple decided to offer him.

Agree. It just confirms what a pu**y Golden is. He could of saved the season, yet he rather wait next year to give Williams a chance.

Remember you are talking about the same coaching staff that would rather play #30 and #31 despite their apparent struggles instead of the more talented players in Jamal Carter and Jermaine Grace. Same coaching staff that would rather bring arguably our best defensive player in Tyriq McCord off the bench instead of start him over knot knee Shayon Green . Raphael Kirby should have been playing instead of Jimmy Gaines. Only thing those players had in common were that they were seniors. Didnt matter how bad Stephen Morris played Golden was sticking with him no matter what.

If BO come here, whoever plays QB is going to look much better. Bo and Duke-- wow -- that is a bad bad combo. I like Morris but never saw the light burning bright in his eyes. He is a bombs away QB, so better suited for Dorsett. On the other hand, so real TE plays could help Dorsett get open earlier, especially with Stacy eating DBs alive.

Geez, did you guys see how terrible Morris looked in the senior game. 2 absolutely horrible INT's. I don't understand why Williams didn't get more playing time last season, not even mop up duty in the few games we actually could've played him.

LOL,********************* This isnt my info, I simply posted what a guy on CS, who claims to know this as fact, wrote.

FWIW, I could see them sticking with Morris. Im sure Morris looked a lot better in practice than he did in actual games. There is no question Morris was more physically gifted than RW. Between that, him being a Senior, and having already been the starter, unless there was a significant gap between the two, I dont see them benching Morris for Williams.

Thing with Morris was his inconsistency. He could make an amazing throw and leave you wowed one minute, and then lay eggs all over the field for the next 4 series. Its sort of a case of pick your poison. Do you go with the big gun that can make the big plays and amazing throws, or the kid with the weak arm, but who can move things more consistently?

My guess is that even though RW probably knows the offense much better, they obviously werent sold on him being a major upgrade, so they rode with Morris.

fact

how the **** is this not the coaches fault?

So you have a starter that is on a bum ankle, that is incredibly inaccurate and incapable of picking up the playbook. And a backup in Ryan that is accurate, healthy and is perfectly capable of retaining the entire playbook....

Why the **** play the tard? And you have an easy out too.... "Morris's ankle does not put us in the best position to win."
