There isn’t any good reason to Wait to play Jarren Williams. He is the Most accurate QB. He has the 2nd strongest arm. He is suited both for QB keepers and Kosi style scramble ball. He is more engaged than Perry (which is his weakness) and a better passer than Malik ( which is his weakness)

If he is a future NFL QB then he is gone as soon as he is a 1st or 2nd rounder whether he is a true junior or a RS somphmore.

If he isn’t that type of talent then we will be looking. To recruit someone who is.

It also makes the roster more attractive to a recruit.

It is true that Perry and Weldon MAY transfer but one or both may also stay. If they were so serious about football then they would be putting in the work already. They are not so maybe football isn’t that important to them.

Most accurate on Greentree?

I do think you play him the last 4 games no matter what. If the QB situation is still a mess.

Admittedly this is based on spring games, practice reports and the rumors of so called insiders.

It seems many want to wait to unveil this kid next year as if he was an ace they’re holding in a card game.

Jesus Christ a first or second round draft pick after 2-3 years? Crown him already as Miami’s best qb since Dorsey. Let him play meaningful snaps then make your assessment.

Richt himself said, and I’m paraphrasing here, that he doesn’t always know where to go with the ball but he puts it in there and makes a play.
He is the most accurate in spring game and 7on 7.

Since one can’t make the throws and the other is lost go with the young gun. There is no reason to save him for later.

Did you see the next sentence? If he is not ...?

I think Richt is being smart in holding off on Williams. What's the rush to get him out there...really? If he's who we think he is then let him develop quietly and away from the venom we tend to spew. He'll still be 'The Man' next spring and he can go out there more confident in himself and the system. We don't have a QB in the '19 class - yet - so let things play out with Rosier/Perry this year, open it up next spring, and let nature take its course. You let Williams in now and you can guarantee Perry will transfer the first chance he gets and then where are we next year?? Unproven Williams, Weldon?, Rizk!?

What IF: Perry can't be trusted with the keys to the Lambo because he's mature enough to handle the position without the threat of losing it to competition...Kind of like he worked the position with Rosier. Malik needed pressure from other QBs to elevate his game (to whatever ceiling he has) and that's what needs to be done with Perry...show him he needs to work for this spot because it will not be given to him.

There’s no evidence richt runs his O any differently for Williams, so he’ll rely on low % completions downfield while leaning into a power running game that we don’t have the personnel for.

What’s the diff who the QB is?

It’s about time Miami has a RS Fr that sets the world on fire. I don’t see a reason/need to burn it on a wasted season. Let him play in 3 “meaningful” games so he can learn but there is no point in burning it halfway through the season when we are playing for... the coastal?
