Jurich

If this is the case then something came up on the background check on Jurich and the firm doesn't want to be held responsible if Miami hires him and something bad happens at Miami.

Their job is to provide information, insight, and opinion, not to dictate to the client.
This. I worked for a global Sports Agency and we were hired as consultants for countless projects and insights but wouldn’t dare dictating to the client what they should do.

It sounds like the firm doesn’t want to be associated with Jurich for whatever reason and is distancing themselves.

The "financial incentive" probably has more to due with getting a guy in that has worked with them in the past, thus potentially using their firm again for future HC searches and more financial contracts.

It could also involve "well, you didn't use our full services this time, but please call us first in the future, and not those ******** at Korn Ferry."

This is my thought as well. They have placed guys at big time jobs (Bama, Michigan, LSU, Nebraska, Tennessee ). They are going to push guys that have a clean record and not under investigation, IF something were to come out later about Jurich and they recommended him or let him interview it would be a bad look for their firm. Its just easier to not let him into the process even if their is pushback from Miami.

What will most likely happen is turnkey will have their top 2-3 guys interview and then Jurich will interview after, same with Highsmith probably. Turnkey would only get the extra commission on top of the initial fee if the people they promote get the job.

Doesn't have anything to do with this search but they are also running FIU's next AD search as well.

So they get paid double if they land Manny the FIU job?

So was Frank hoping to get the search firm's blessing re: Jurich so he wouldn't be out on a limb by himself for making a 'controversial' hire?

So nobody has been interviewed yet, which to means no AD this week. And no Jurich why would you hire a firm if you are just going to interview who you want anyways? The university will interview who this firm recommends. So in short same old Miami

My bigger concern is how the fk are they just now starting to conduct interviews? It’s been two weeks since they fired Blake James and we were led to believe that they’ve been doing their homework and have a good idea of who they want.

They’re now just starting the interview process? Jesus Christ.
