I have never been involved in using a search firm to find an executive but I have worked with engineering firms on projects. I would use the firm to come up with a list of potential candidates and then see which candidates fall on both lists and why candidates made one list and not the other. The idea that we have to select one of their candidates is dumb and the idea that we wasted our money by not selecting one of their candidates is also dumb. The goal should be to have an extra set of non-bias eyes conducting a search and providing feedback you may not have considered. True, they can't dictate it. But they also have the right to withdraw their services at any time if Miami DOES dictate their search. It works both ways.

Also, said there probably won't be a new AD next week anymore and so the new AD probably won't make the call on Manny. So the bot and Frenk will probably decide whether to keep Manny again or not. Also talked about not wanting to make a change just for the sake of making a change as if there aren't dozens of coaches who are better than Manny out there. Them mentioned wanting to keep the young guys bought in, even though Manny played up having a veteran team going into this year.

Unless this is all misinformation, it sounds like the old BOT members might be winning the battle and we might all need to find a new team. If Manny stays, I'm done.

But Miami is not dictating their search. Miami is basically could go against their recommendation which in its absolute right. Turnkey can still do their task of recommending a list not having jurich name on it.
I just don't see the "liability" risk to the search firm here if they just follow their job description: Recommend a list of candidate. Period.

1. We don't know what is really going on. It's all just speculation. But,

2. The search firm should not dictate an executive's hire, and
3. The executive should not dictate the firm's search process.

I absolutely agree with you 100% but we've seen this movie before. We know the script. It would be just like UM to kick Jurich to the curb because the search firm didn't like it and this is what I fully expect to happen.
