Josh Pate Shreds Gattis on Late Kick

There’s ZERO chance Mario fires him during the season. Z.E.R.O.
He doesn’t need to fire him mid-season. He just needs to reassign him to an administrative role that has absolutely no impact on offensive game planning, prep, and playcalling.

Did Pate's late night DMs specify why Gattis wouldn't work? I'm legit curious. And why does the defense suck all of a sudden?

How does everyone know that? It's just an assumption based on history in other places. It doesn't necessarily match up with the philosophy of other guys he supposedly spoke to
not only does it not match the philosophy of Mario's original choices. It doesn't even match what his offense at Oregon that Ducks fans thought was pedestrian did. The previous three season Oregon offense avg over 6 ypp which was better than what Lashee's offenses that so many here yearn for did.

Entering yesterday, we were surprisingly 9th nationally in success rate (51%) and like 98th in explosiveness. Everything is 3-5 yards, no verticality.

Against MTSU, 31% success rate.

Disgusting. Gattis will decide his fate vs. UNC. Maybe Garcia helps…either way, we’ll find out soon enough.

Gattis sucks. As soon as we went down 24-3, the game was over. A Gattis offense can not bring you back from a greater than two touchdown deficit. Our imminent UNC loss should be the last game that Gattis coaches.
I remember this score. We proceeded to go on a 15 play 7 minute drive.

That type of offense allows basically no margin for error.

The more possessions both teams have, the more law of averages prevails.

Slow as game like this, turns out a few big plays by the other team are enough to kick your a$$.

Well.....that's fair. I'M holding on to hope that the boss man evolves offensively and corrects course. Don't have any evidence that he will just hope.
Hopefully he will, but he needs to move faster than he’d like. People don’t have patience for giving a failing OC 2 years. If Gattis can’t significantly turn this around, I’d hope Mario would be out OC shopping in November.

Mario needs to hire a contrarian to his own preferences.... where is David Youst?

That drive Mario was telling TVD to slow down. TVD wanted to go tempo and score. We fell into that TD to end the half, had the Parrish long run and then a couple penalties to secure it.

Except, we would have come back if the defense held up their end of the bargain allowing 100 yd bombs and ****. Garcia put up 3 tds in a quarter and a half. We also fumbled at the 1 yd line.

I ain't burying the OC til I see his offense ran by someone capable of running it. It was capable very early TVD was lost here.

Like, I'm not crowning the man, but holy ****, our Qb is throwing INTs and overthrowing WIDE OPEN receivers, and when it does hit them. They're dropping it, and that's the OC fault?

Now if we still stink, hey, Kingsbury bout to be available.

50% of the time. Overall , he wasn't much better than TVD after the initial series.... Not saying he doesn't have promise but let's not kid ourselves, he's far from a finished product...
Multiple bad calls by the refs set one score up. The offense will be a little better because of fit but this o is what it is.

Since we have so much trouble scoring in the red zone why not develop some plays for Jacurri Brown as QB. He is certainly a gifted athlete and could be an answer but it's worth a try at this point because we are INEPT near the goal line. Last time I looked he is part of this team.

There’s a slightly better fit and the WR’s run routes with effort for the backup.

In person, the playcalling appeared to be quicker and less cautious as well. Of course, if that's really the case, we may see 4 TDs and 3 INTs.

I'm not sold this offense will get that much better.
