Josh Pate coming to the game

I really don't get the whole talk in front of a camera and ramble about college football thing.

I mean, I don't mind round tables and discussions about college football. Or taking phone callers and talking about football.

But just long monologues and talking about stories lines and narratives? Not really for me.

I have nothing against him. Just not really my style of sports journalist or commentator or podcaster.

The show ESPN gave McElroy is similar to me. I mean it makes a little more sense since he is a commentator and former player who played at an elite program. But I still find it a tad boring and cringe when a guy just rambles for an hour in front of a camera.
You might prefer Brooks Austin he does ball knower stuff

When will you guys learn that all media, everywhere are just waiting for us to fail...
Does that include DMoney and all of the other Canes-related media? Can someone investigate if Canesinsight traffic increases after Miami fails?

Why the hate? Pate has been one of the most balanced college football analysts that I have listened to. Has been a believer in what Mario has been trying to accomplish for some time and has always spoken highly of the Canes. He has had Miami ranked in the top 3 for the past couple of weeks and believes they are one of the best programs in the country.
Most of it stems from last year when he was a heavy advocate of playoff spots for a 8-5 Uf, 9-4 South Carolina and a 10-3 ole miss team. While highlighting our deficiencies, rightfully so and overlooking those greatly flawed teams as mentioned.

That being said so far this season he’s been moderate. So far lol.

“Pate is very fair to Miami”

Yeah, he’s a front-runner when things go well and that’s it. Last year he really pushed the Miami wins because of the refs narrative. His coverage post-VT was anything but fair. You all just get enamored because he makes a comment or two favoring Miami.

In his podcast yesterday recapping the weekend, he was talking about Georgia's loss to Alabama. He said about Georgia, "They don't have players like Miami". Let that sink in a for a bit. I don't know what else you want from this guy.

Look at it as a verbal newspaper editorial.

I mean he said the samething our fans were saying, that our defense sucked in a nicer way lol

I think he's always talked about us rather favorably. He said in this show "Georgia doesn't have the kind of players Miami does" in reference to Georgia non existent pass rush
he loves the SEC but he does respect our program, coach and players. hey lets face it the ACC is pretty bad this year. and you have to respect his career trajectory. he cracked into the establishment from outside the establishment. he is like the zach Bryan of pundits.

its for people who love college football. I like his show especially the recap show on Sunday

Is someone a schill if last week they had Miami ranked #1 and Ohio State #2?
Yes. Showing Miami ranked 1 is essentially chum in the water for our haters. It drives traffic seeing our logo up there. Still a SEC schill.

When has the ACC been good?

The top 8-10 teams in SEC are better than the 4th best team in ACC easily. Mississippi State and Vandy would probably be competing with GT and FSU as the 2nd best best team in the ACC.

That is how the media works. He is trying to get more views and subscribers. He is going to talk about whatever gets him that, and that happens to be the SEC. It is what it is

I was on the wait list for Pate State, but ultimately did not get in. For those who matriculated, how was the overall experience?
