Josh Moore and Charmar Brown - out for the season

I'm actually better with this than what I thought. When he stretched for that high ball in the low red area, that's when I first noticed he looked hurt, and I thought he pulled something stretching for that ball. Those types of injuries linger. If he just fell hard on his shoulder, I'm not saying that's nothing, but for one, it's something you can play through and two, if it was minor enough for him to keep playing (albeit only 13 snaps in the 2nd half), it's not like it's some Grade 3 AC sprain or collarbone issue, etc.

I'd much rather a sore shoulder than a strained core or groin muscle that lingers all season.
Believe me when i say this isn't good for Mali. My guess it's an AC sprain and that is the exact type of injury that lingers cause of all the ocntact he will take on that shoulder. It will effect his blocking, his catch radius, how he goes after balls, how he runs and makes contact with the ground. It isn't a good injury since it will keep getting hit

Exactly — Malachi didn't suffer a fracture or dislocation. That wasn't my claim lol.

You said artificial turf is inherently more dangerous for a hard landing, and I cited a 20-year study that does not support that blanket assertion.

If your response to that data is simply, “Malachi didn't suffer a fracture or dislocation,” then you're responding to a point I never made rather than addressing the evidence I actually cited.

If the hard landing leads to a fracture or a dislocation, that's one thing.

But that's not what happened at the Wake game. You put those words about "fracture" and "disclocation" in bold, and now you are acting like I just went on a tangent? Very strange.

I said that for certain injuries that were suffered, predominantly stingers with Malachi and Darian, the impact of a hard landing is worse. And for other injuries, such as the way in which Marty planted his foot and the knee hyperextended, it can be the result of the cleat hanging up in the turf during contact.

So help me out here with your earlier contribution. First, did YOU bold these words:

More importantly, does Miami tend to play on fields with "divots" or "uneven muddy spots" or "hard-frozen dirt"? Only God knows which fields the RHODE ISLAND Medical Journal took into account for its study, but I certainly haven't seen many of THOSE fields in the ACC. So I'm not really sure why we should be relying on some mathematical derivation that seems to be based on a survey of high school fields in the greater New England area (yes, I know they claim "nationwide", but I'm not sure if including Montana makes anything better).

Would it be possible for the Rhode Island Medical Journal to do some comparative research on grass fields that do NOT have divots or uneven muddy spots or hard-frozen dirt? Because I'd like to see THOSE numbers. I feel pretty good about how that will match up to everything I've heard from UM and NFL players over the last 40 years.

Come on, man. I responded to a guy who claimed that NONE of our injuries were related to the crappy turf at Wake Forest, and you're dropping Rhode Island Medical Journal citations to make it seem like our eyes didn't see what we saw at Wake Forest?

OK, then. I'm trying to be nice, but some people are taking advantage.

2017. Walton lost for season in Oct. AR82 was effectively hobbled the entire season and was a shell of himself due to the torn hammy. That was the #1 WR and #1 RB. And we had Malik Rosier at QB, who was, to put it kindly, not the most talented QB we’ve had at UM. It still worked out pretty well. I think the backbreaker was Herndon before the ACC championship game . He was an exceptional TE and could do everything, and a terrific safety blanket for Rosier.

We just lost the #2 RB, #3/4 WR for season and #4/5 LB for a few weeks. It’s tough but we have depth. Need to get back our DBs though. Most important thing isn’t even injury related- fix the offensive line.

| Mark Walton | Running Back | Lost for the season in October (ankle injury sustained against Florida State requiring surgery) |
| Christopher Herndon IV| Tight End | Suffered a season-ending knee injury during the regular-season finale against Pittsburgh |
| Ahmmon Richards| Wide Receiver | Plagued by a torn hamstring all year, then suffered a torn MCL in practice before the ACC title game |
| Demetrius Jackson| Defensive Lineman | Missed significant time/out with long-term injury designations during the second half of the season |
| Charles Perry| Linebacker | Sidelined with a major injury reducing linebacker depth down the stretch |
| Evidence Njoku| Wide Receiver | Placed on the injured list mid-way through the fall/conference schedule |
| Jamie Gordinier| Linebacker | Dealt with a severe injury ending his campaign prematurely |
Njoku and Gordinier didn’t play. Moore, Marty Brown, OJ, Lucas, Antoine all get significant time. Gilbert would have played a lot at TE. WR and RB has the depth but DB is getting pretty scary.

WR room (Cam Vaughn and Moore) and DB room (Lucas, OJ, Antoine) and RB room (Marty) went from real deep to real thin by game 3.

AC normally is from an impact from the top of the shoulder not side. More likely a bruised muscle.

You are a scrawny pathetic nerd and if you spoke like this to anyone in person you would get your jaw broken.

Back to the ignore list for you ****.

Oh good lord, I'm heartbroken.

You jumped into a conversation between other people, and now you're butthurt because I pointed it out.

And I'm not speaking to "anyone". I'm speaking this way TO YOU, a disrespectful person who deserves no respect.

You want to threaten me with a broken jaw, you're the one with anger-management issues. Seek help.

So this is where we stand 3 games in, anyone else missing?
  • Josh Moore WR3 - Out for Season
  • Chamar Brown RB2 - Out for Season
  • OJ Frederique CB1 - Out for Regular Season Minimum
  • Xavier Lucas - CB2 - Out till mid October Minimum
  • Malachi Toney - WR1 - Week to week with shoulder
  • Mark Fletcher - RB1 - Week to week with shoulder
  • Jaboree Antoine - CB4/5 - Out till November
  • Ahmad Moten - DT1 - Week to week with shoulder
  • Ezekiel Marcellin - LB3/4 - Out a month
  • JJ Sparks - OL - Out for Season
  • Luka Gilbert - TE2/3 - Out for Season
Also, we can stop with the "I had a feeling injuries would hit us this year"? It's confirmation bias, we all ruminate about it during spring and summer so when it happens it feels on the nose.

Gilbert was lost before the season.

Cristobal said after the Stanford game that Lucas would be out about a month. That game was on sept 4. So wishful thinking we get him back for Clemson. Probably back by FSU. Nothing really been reported on OJ since the injury. Not sure if he had shoulder surgery or what. But I’m assuming either out for the season or till at least december

I never said it was good. Our best player is hurt. It’s not even in the same universe as good. It’s bad. My point was, when i noticed it, I thought he pulled something, which could be weeks of not playing. He *should* be able to play through the shoulder. But this is nowhere near good.
