There is two fcs ol i identified that i think could play here...but these guys are from north dakota and freakin montana and been loyal and basically the opposite of Miami lol

We should have recruiting dpept guys scouting fcs qb targets every year...there are qbs there to be had n they wouldnt even be expensive.

I already suggested you for the job. You can go watch FCS playoffs all over the country and be a food blogger. You once said you’d do the job for a pass to the training table where DVD got stone crab claws. How about free airfare and a spending budget of 2k/week for food and hotel. Your food blog would crush. ‘this spicy bison sandwich in Montana state is almost as good as their LG is in pass pro.’

Mario is a **** of a recruiter with no quit, but I don't think he is going to stoop to chasing down a player to stroke their ego like Kiffin and Lanning. I feel he sees this and starts cooling off on them. Not a player to have on your team.

Which to me is a red flag coming from an olineman. With that type of mentality he’ll be exposed in the SEC.

No it will not. I am willing to bet right now that Miami will have a top 5 offensive line in the nation by playoff time. Mark my words McCoy will be one best tackles in the conference and he will be drafted in the 27 draft.

That’s the way I see it, without championship contender part, but ****, I said the same thing before the year.

Sure, you lose guys like Bain, Mesidor, Sisi, Coop, Bell, Scott…serious veteran presence that you cannot replace to that level, but we aren’t exactly replacing them with 3 star rooks…..hold on to some coaching continuity and we can compete with most IMO.
 
Mario and Meribal must earn their OL reputation this year. Bringing in a stud QB with no proven tackles. Fresh man right tackle and no position experience on left tackle.

When we had Ward in 2024, we didn’t have a defense. When we had a defense in 2025, we didn’t have a trusted QB in Beck and lost a championship. Now in 2026 looks like we get a trusted QB in Mensah and good defense, but no trusted Oline protection. We need to put all these together.

We are always working hard late. We seem to always lose to LSU and Texas. After 5 championships, we were arrogant in not improving our facilities and investing in football and we fell behind. I hope we are not arrogant again thinking that we are Oline U and refuse to pay what the current market demands for our position of need. If you don’t pay, someone else will. You can label it desperation or suck tax or whatever, but you will be left behind.

How do you see this OL shaking out? Any in the portal unsigned that we might flip? If mensah and barkate end up here i feel pretty good about most of the roster but im concerned about OL...feels like Okunlola and McCoy hold down Guard spots, Cantwell likely RT then what. Rodriguez at Center? Injuries issues can he hold up and make it a full yr? And then who the heck plays LT?
