Tell me about the defensive recruits we have committed in the 2015 class....tell me about the DTs and DEs we have committed or are even considering us ? Oh ok.This staff sucks man we only have the 3 of the top RB's in this class. This class sucks!
Since you asked...
Scott Patchan DE (also TE in HS)
Tampa, Florida; HS: Freedom - Class of 2015
6'6" 240
40: 4.53
20-Yard Shuttle: 4.63
Vertical Jump: 31.6"
Power Throw: 38.0
SPARQ Rating: 89.79
Fun Fact: Patchan’s keeping it in the Miami family. His father, Matt Sr. was a standout left tackle for the Hurricanes.
Big 3 Sleeper: One of the most highly recruited defensive linemen in the country, defensive end Scott Patchan was a surprise early commit to Miami despite being a legacy at the school (father OT Matt Patchan and uncle LB Dan Mariscal both played for the Canes). Since then, Patchan has absolutely blown up, but he also recently signed a grant-in-aid with the University of Miami. His ranking (no. 49 DE) borders on the criminal on Scout.com.
Great motor, plays mean, fast, and completes tackles. Athletic and long (6'6" 240: 40: 4.53), we expect to see some great play from him in the future at Miami.
Richard McIntosh, Jr. DE (also OL and some TE on offense in HS)
Fort Lauderdale, Florida;
HS: Cardinal Gibbons - Class of 2015
6'5" 255
This defensive end has good size and is athletic. He’s quick and fast. McIntosh can rush the passer and chase plays down from the backside. He will get bigger, stronger and fill out. I love his upside.
His high school coach said the Chiefs used McIntosh at tight end, offensive tackle and he even took a few snaps at center. The 6-4, 255-pound McIntosh is Miami's second defensive end commit, according to Rivals. McIntosh has more than 30 scholarship offers.
Ryan Fines DL
Bradenton, Florida; HS: Manatee - Class of 2015
6'4" 305
40: 5.09
GPA: 3.6
Fines is a defensive tackle prospect from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy. He moved to the area two years ago from Colorado and spent last year at Bradenton Manatee. Fines, 6-foot-4, 290-pounds, is one of two big bodies in the middle of the IMG defensive front, as he lines up alongside Arkansas commitment Hjalte Froholdt (6-4/292). Fines is more of a high effort player that can occupy multiple blockers to free up linebackers behind him to make plays. Fines is a run stuffer, plain and simple. He has a good build and a lot of lower body strength. Fines is tough to move and can take on and challenge double teams.
