FSU and Tim Brewster played the game with Luke, as did Bama, as did most schools who reached out to him directly for some back door channels with certain recruits. It was a double edge sword with us, and I see Miami decided to open it back with him. That's the first time he's been on campus in some years. Cause regardless on how you feel about Luke, he has some pull with kids in Dade county, a lot of pull! You might not want to believe that for your own personal reasons, but unfortunately it's the truth!

We offered Ryan Mayes...a kid Luke literally called soft and not a um level player..WHILE he coached him..over Chad Wilson's kid..which led to losing out on like 3-4 prospects down the line lol. Chad's kid made it to the nfl his jr year...Ryan Mayes likely sells flip phones now.

Vilma is an actual UM guy; not the type to root for a kid at FSU just because he’s at south florida. Vilma is a real cane. His allegiance is with UM not whoever gives him the most attention.

Perhaps Al Golden didn't seriously consider any of the recruits Luke was pushing because it was Luke pushing them. I got no love for Golden, but think about it. Golden is a Penn State/Temple guy. 99% of what he knows about Miami and the history here came strait from the media that loves us so much. All he knows is he's trying to keep a clean front while we're on probation from the 2nd largest scandal in program history. People who really hate us in the media whisper words like "death penalty."
And then this mutha shows up asking if there's anything he can do to help...
Why don't we specifically define what Ol' Puke has done first? He started a youth football program that served to boost his own reputation with dupes and which facilitated his own financial entanglements into said football community? Funny how we never hear about Ol' Puke just doing general run of the mill charity or "saving" non future scholarship athletes.
So Vilma is a sellout because his charity (that is public) only involves building schools in Haiti, giving $500k to UM, investing in the community here business-wise, etc.? You HAVE to dip your hands into the local youth and high school football world to be some great philanthropist like Ol Puke?
