Joe Brady LSU

‘Problem with that is they would almost have to triple his pay, would definitely ***** up their pay structure with their other coaches.

Point taken. And they do have to beat Clemson (or, God forbid, Taint) first to actually deserve that money.

Heard we could easily double his salary, 2 things come into play for Miami.

1) He’s from South Florida.
2) If LSU is going to give him a huge raise, why are they waiting? Maybe he feels he has been under paid by LSU, similar to how Enos may have felt with Bama.
Throw a 1.2 offer at him now and see what happens.
Also have to remind him there are no state taxes in Florida, that’s another 5-6% increase on top of the 1.2.

His current salary we could.
1) Hasnt lived in South Florida since graduating high school
2) Maybe his agent is smart and wants him to go on interviews to drive the price up. The rumor is it will be one of the highest for an assistant coach
1.2 wont get him LSU is rumored to be willing to throw 2 at him. Those state taxes in Florida doesn't work with people making this money, if it did we would get every major free agent in all sports.

This X 1000. Unless someone on the BOT went to the Agent and told him that Manny is simply keeping the seat warm for Brady to inherit. That might be an inducement, but under normal circumstances, LSU laughs at the pennies this Board spends on coaching.

Cost of living in SoFla is significantly more than the tax savings. Anyway, y'all gotta be real dumb to think he'd make a lateral move here. Only way he's coming here is for that HC job.

He is a position coach at LSU. Not the OC. How can Miami be his dream job but his dad says he has no interest in coming here? Somebody is slinging some **** and seeing if it is going to stick!

Problem is, LSU would laugh at a $1.2 offer to him and match it on the spot.
Yeah but he's not the OC there. That's the other thing we can sell that would cause issues for LSU. I don't think we could get him but make LSU pay him a lot more at least.

Yea, no. See Aranda

Agreed. I suspect that the Brady rumor was leaked to the press to mollify an angry fan base to show that Manny and Blake were “serious”.

What’s actually going to happen is what we’re used to from Manny: the hire will be some unproven OC from a Mid-major that nobody’s ever heard of but will be billed as the “next Yost”. Meanwhile, we’ll pick him up for 175K.

And we’ll see how this all works out next year when we survive Wagner by a field goal.

Jesus, burn it the f*#k down already......

Dude isn’t coming to this dumpster fire, get real.

Maybe if our next coach isn’t yet another piece of garbage he’d come but no up and comer like Brady is coming to bail out Diaz.

Diaz should be gone now but will get one more year so the admin can shave a few million off that buyout next December.

We will get stuck with some young guy that nobody has really heard of or some other clown show retread similar to Bobo at OC.

There is no assistant with reasonable alternatives that will hop on this sunk ship.

Brady, as the hottest name in college football, is solidly in the "assistant with reasonable alternatives" category.

This thread is absurd.

I was also the first to say that Enos was a terrible hire. Now, I don’t think Brady would be terrible, but I want somebody with a more proven track record. Also, hiring somebody away from a school like LSU who has tremendous recruiting advantages, especially at OL, isn't a recipe for success at Miami.

We need to follow the Clemson model. Gimmick offense our way to sustain success that will help us improve on the recruiting trail then, after we start bringing in better talent in the trenches, we can look at guys like Joe Brady.
