Joaquin Gonzalez says....

If the **** can coach and understand Miami and what it means to be HC here he should be considered. Doesnt gave to have Miami ties. Fu©k it no 'ties'!. I think Herman is the guy if not Butch. Butch will bring coaches in who can actually become HCs, not clowns like No D, Coley, Nix etc. Thats my thing. The guys coming in as assistants.

What a fcking joke this school is with that pathetic list.

P.S. I bet they're not all that happy that Joaquin has diarrhea of the mouth. Doubt they wanted him spewing that stuff publicly.

Joaquin clarified that it's not the school's list or the search firm's list. Those are the names being suggested by former players.

That's great. Unfortunately, the former players are apparently clueless when it comes to choosing a HC. They're stuck in a time warp and only want the job given to one of their friends or to someone that they played for or with.

P.S. Joaquin needs to learn to write more clearly if he wants to be a newsman breaking stories. Then, he gets all worked up when his own words were wide open to mixed interpretations.

Are we the only university out there that takes the input of the players? And why the **** do we care?

Sam Jankovich didn't need their input and he hired Jimmy Johnson and Dennis Erickson. Imagine what **** pile we end up with if he polled the players on who they wanted.

Last few times we asked former/current players we ended up with Larry Coker and Randy Shannon.

MAKE IT STOP

This **** is an absolute circus. They run UM like Miami runs the city. The former players involved in the hiring process? What the **** is that ****?!

THIS!

Don't be so myopic. What happens if they leave them out of the process?

What happens everywhere else in the world where ex-players aren't taking part in the hiring process? Are you going to lose the zillions of dollars these guys don't donate?

I remember Sam giving the press **** before hiring Erickson. Saying the pick would be his and his alone. Wouldn't be influenced by anyone else. Can anyone imagine Flake doing that? I miss Sam.

Getting a qualified AD is so much more important than a coach right now. We should have fired Blake after firing golden. If they don't have faith in Blake then replace him

They don't want a real AD. Guys like Athletic Director Dimare want to keep making all the decisions and then pinning them off on this useless muppet Fake Jimmy.

This is what I am struggling to understand. There is a strong perception that Blake James has zero power as an AD. When Shalala hired him, I remember reading he was brought here because he would be easy for Shalala to control and micromanage. Which probably explains why Miami has lost several AD's under her regime. Unlike the current President, who is staying out of the major decisions with the sports programs, Shalala was too involved with Sports which explains why this program has gone from champions to chumps, literally. Additionally, Blake James went on record stating that Golden would not be fired after the Clemson game, the next day Golden was gone. This is further proof that he is a joke.

I could be dead wrong but I feel like Blake James lacks an incredible amount of knowledge about sports and lacks serious leadership skills. He has zero vision. Does anyone know if he does a good job at raising money? I hope so because he sucks at everything else.

Who is covering their ****? There is no reason Blake should be AD, yet he is still here. There is no reason that DiMare should be involved with the search, yet he is still apart of the search. Who is covering?

It just sounds like waste. We're not some random company in the middle of this country who needs to find a new leader. Since we're limited in our contacts we hire some executive search team to uncover some gems we're not familiar with. When you're unfamiliar with the potential candidates (as in who is out there), I get it.

Who the *** are these clowns going to find that are unknown? We know the coaches and how they perform. They have agents, gauge interest and move forward. Assemble a list and then hunt.

Our AD was not prepared for any search. Our AD is already known as a retarded puppet too. He should have been ready to go WAY before this point. He should have contacts and know the market. He should know what we can offer.

I never expected to hire a coach before early December, but the way they're handling this process reeks of another failure.

Any AD worth half a **** has a list of candidates that he works on constantly even while he has a HC in place. That's what Tom Jurich does.

Who exactly is being CYA'd by any of this **** anyway? If the next hire fails, then everyone will just blame the AD like they always do. No one is going to say, "**** that Korn Ferry really fcked us. Fire them! Oh, they're not employees? Then, let's write a letter to the newspaper." No one will give a **** who was involved if they fck up this next hire. The heat will flow directly to the AD as it always does even if he's a spineless muppet.

They've got so many **** people involved in this **** that it's a circus. Bunch of non-football followers on the BOT, bunch of ex-players with all their own agendas to hire their friends or ex-coaches, a search firm that isn't going to uncover anything. What a fcking clown show. 8000 cooks to brew up a diarrhea stew.

Cue the Benny Hill theme.

Bunch of retards humping a doorknob.

By CYA, I mean they want to say and show that they involved the players in the process. Many of the former players have complained. This is part of the song and dance.

A retarded song and dance.

I am not sure of the need for the search firm or the players involvement.

If I were Flake I would of started searching the second I got the job. Everyone who hires and fires people should know you should be looking.. having someone ready to go or someone on your mind to come in if said person needs to be replaced. Flake shouldve had a short list of coaches ready to interview before Golden ever got fired.

Maaaybe he does.. but the way he's handled everything during his tenure so far screams incompetence. He was probably hoping Goldie would be a lifer.

Of course but this is retarded puppet. He isn't prepared to wipe his ****.

What do you really know about his qualifications to be AD. How did you come to those opinion? Just curious?

I seriously doubt we are paying this group around 250k to come up with those crap names.

Most of the people on this board just learned to wipe their assses. The stupidity here is funny. People workin in the Burger King spouting knowledge.

Not involving them at all is actually less "risky" than involving them and then selecting someone that wasn't one of their popular picks. That'll actually be construed as more of a slap in the face to a lot of these guys. It's par for the course for amateur hour in Coral Gables though.

Tell us all, please. I am not taking a side either way. I just would like to hear some opinions based on fact.

Here are the facts as I know them. Blake was here on the staff during the Butch years. He left and eventually became the AD at the University of Maine. He came back at some point and was promoted when Eichler bailed. He has only hired one coach after firing the previous coach, to what I would call mixed results. He recently fired Golden and is searching for a new coach. Nobody I know, knows who he prefers or is at the top of his list. Fundraising has been strong on his watch. Feel free to add to that.
