Joaquin Gonzalez says....

It's almost like stubbornly refusing to consider candidates with no ties to the school results in a pathetically underwhelming list from which to choose.

You do realize we cant interview a head coach with a job already right??? We have to wait till seasons end... All those on the list are NOT current head coaches in Football...all other coaches without ties to Miami have other jobs

Again, this university is run by the most CLUELESS individuals on earth. They're going to hire this SLUG, and the program will tank completely. At this point, I think killing the program is what they want, albeit slowly so they can get that ACC cash as long as they can. So angry now that I HATE Miami. It was always a mess, but at least they weren't always quite this stupid.

God help us all: DAMNED CUBAN AL!

SHUT THE GD PROGRAM DOWN IF THIS IS THE BEST YOU CAN DO!

This area is unique and so is the school. It's unlike any other job. You have to have a relationship with the high school coaches down here to succeed at a high level. It's why they shouldn't entertain a Herman or Fuente. It would take those guys a few years to make inroads into the high schools -- this Program does not have a few years to wait around. I'd look at guys that have those connections -- Butch/Mario/Strong, etc. Then I would make my decision based on the staffs that they could put together. Golden had no ties to Miami, no connection to the high schools, and did not put together a strong staff. He lost out on too many kids and the staff did not do a good job of coaching-up the players they got.

You must be from Kendall

FML.
At this point there is a better chance of winning the lottery than ending up with the right coach.

For those that don't speak Spanish, here is Joaquin's clarification:

(Expletive). Those are the names of the candidates that have come out of the interviews with the ex-players. (Expletive)!

i dont know why he's running his mouth about it, and its pretty sad when our former players can only come up with names of previous canes coaches, and not provide any outside possibilities.

I think we're misinterpreting the tweet.

It sounds like the search firm is soliciting opinions from former players, and the former players are naming those four. Which would make sense, since they don't have experience with other possible candidates.

I doubt the headhunters gave Joaquin their own list. I doubt they even have a list. The conversation probably went something like this:

Joaquin: What names have you been hearing from the other players?
Headhunter: We hear a lot about Butch and Mario, some about Chud, and a little about Schiano.

Let's hope the former players have little to no say.

These are the same guys that were adamant about hiring Larry Coker.

What a fcking joke this school is with that pathetic list.

P.S. I bet they're not all that happy that Joaquin has diarrhea of the mouth. Doubt they wanted him spewing that stuff publicly.

Joaquin clarified that it's not the school's list or the search firm's list. Those are the names being suggested by former players.

its sad but mario is going to be our coach, something just tells me they are going to mess it up

Doesn't take much imagination to see them ******** this thing up royally. They've been doing it for three straight awful hires. Here comes number 4!

TOTALLY CLUELESS!

I agree with DMoney. No way they would trust top secret information like this to Joaquin Gonzalez. Buddy couldnt even wait 10min before he started yapping on twitter about what was said in the interview. This was all just prelim talks. Once the real business starts, they will be extremely confidential about who knows what. We found out Al Golden was our coach on a random weekday out of thin air. Same scenario will happen here.

So far this is what I see.
Hoping someone fails and gets fired.
Trying to find any possible reason disqualify Butch.
Trying to find any possible reason to make Mario more appealing.
Nothing on coaches that are actually being successful with their current teams.
And of course Mike Shula.

Yeah....if this all works out it will be a miracle.

Ex players need to write their suggestions down and then toss into a fire.
