Jimmies and Joes

Thats not all u said lol…but again these labels are pointless is my point because majority of the time the people using them dont know what they’re doing. Im not talking about formations

Bro, did u read or nah?

What I said:

“Run & Shoot / Air Raid literally means u’re airing out the ball. Spread can be ran in different formations that utilizes the concept of “spreading” out the defense, to create the best match ups, whether that’s running or passing the ball.”

Literally go & look at UGA’s Wiki page, it says Pro-Spread. What are the different “Spread” Offenses:

1. Pro
2. Power or Smash Mouth
3. RPO
4. Triple Option
5. Papa Air Raid

So now let’s look at what is Air Raid:
The system is designed out of a shotgun formation with four wide receivers and one running back. The formations are a variation of the run and shoot offense with two outside receivers and two inside slot receivers. The offense also uses trips formations featuring three wide receivers on one side of the field and a lone single receiver on the other side.
The scheme is notable for its focus on passing. As many as 65–75% of the calls during a season result in a passing play.

So again, I’m asking what r u on, right now, my guy?

You using wiki to talk football is crazy lol

But u keep proving my point about labels meaning little to nothing. Monken’s brung his air raid stuff to Georgia and meshed it in with what kirby wants. So wtf do u call their offense? Pro Air raid? Lmao no because a label doesn’t mean ****

You keep talking about formations and what wiki says is my entire point. Almost EVERY offense we talk about on here is using some air raid, run and shoot stuff, spread stuff etc.. so saying uga runs a pro spread is just talking to talk, saying we were attempting to run a power spread is just talking to talk, saying the air raid or run and shoot is just to air it out is just talking to talk. None of that **** is true in 2023

A team can win a national championship with much less overall talent than the competition, but there is zero chance without an elite QB and WR. I think Miami could get back to being in the playoff picture quickly with a top QB and WR. In the NIL /portal era, it can be done in a couple seasons, so wrdon't have to wait until 2029 for Cristobal to have 17 5 stars to make a playoff push. But it seems like QBs and WRs want no part of this offense.

Let's see what EW does..

OoooooooK, but not OK.

Listen I don’t go back & forth on certain things, especially when it’s tangible, but if that’s what u wanna stand on, more power to u bruh.

Actually, yes. How many AR teams line up 2 dominant, blocking & catching TEs, like UGA does? I guarantee you that Smart ain't givin' up His TEs for the pip squeak WRs that are usually employed by the AR.
My point is the labels get in the way of what’s actually going on lol thats all, u have people thinking Michigan and Georgia run the same offense cause people call both pro or power spreads

Playoff era started in 2014.

2016 Clemson - (#9 247 composite , 4 5 stars) over Bama (#1, 17 5 stars)

2019 Clemson (#9, 7 5 stars) over Bama (#1, 11 5 stars).

2020 LSU (#6, 7 5 stars) over Clemson (#4, 11 5 stars)

3 out of 9 years. So 1/3 of time of the
considerably less talented (on paper) opponent beat the more talented opponent. 2 of these these Ws were total demolitions of the "better" opponent.

And there were "almosts" by considerably less talented teams

2015 Clemson (#13, 4 5 stars) lost 45-40 to Bama (#1, 15 5 stars)

So nearly half the time (44%)in the playoff era, a team with much less talent than the opponent beat or nearly beat the more talented opponent. 44% - so no, this is not anecdotal.

The key # seems to be 7. That's the minimum number of 5 stars to be competitive. Once you get that number, then coaching can make the difference.

I'll say it over and over again - if Miami is going to copy a blueprint, it should copy Clemsons. I don't think its realistic to expect Miami to have 17 5 stars. And no one has ever called Dabo a schematic genius. He is a CEO type coach through and through, but hit on key positions- QB and WR consistently, and had a good eye for finding underrated 3 and 4 star talent. Surprisingly, I think Cristobal is recruiting OL far better than Dabo, but he is getting spanked in the QB and WR department He needs to hire an OC that excites recruits and let's them believe they will put up video game numbers.
Dabo also had 3 of the top 5/10 assistants in the game winning him those titles as well.

The easiest way to label the air raid would be what the team uses for terminology. If they are installing things as "blue rt 92" then that is traditional air raid stuff. After that, people are just building their offense off of the ideas and tailoring to what they have.

UGA may use air raid passing concepts but foundationally this isn't Air Raid. It's a pro style offense similar to some of the best patriot teams with some tempo and qb runs involved (personnel driven).
