I was responding to a post that wed have the best coaches in the Mac as if the Mac didnt produce good coaches. That's all. Good coaches come from all over.

I am not surprised Simpson returned to the NFL. It seems once coaches get a taste of the NFL a lot of them want to go back.

I haven't read much of this thread, but from what little I know about this situation, Manny is doing what Meyer and other great coaches do, scouting the college and professional ranks for potential coaching replacements. Manny knows fully well his position coaches will not be here forever, so he has coaches in his rolodex, just in case. Gotta love the forward thinking on that.

I never said that I "knew what was going on", but I said it should not be a surprise. The signs were there.

And, yes, if Simpson tells Manny that he wants to leave UM (now that his buddy Richt has retired), but that he doesn't want to ***** up the recruiting class, then it is absolutely the case where Manny gives Simpson the 6 or 8 weeks to interview and find another job. Quietly.

It's like you've never had a job before. Or at least a salaried job with responsibilities beyond sweeping the floor.

Fair enough. I saw way too many long runs given up for my taste last year.

All of which are based more on what the DC is calling and implementing on defense rather than what the DL coach is teaching.

You can be a perfect teacher of any position, but of the coordinator is calling the wrong plays, that's on them and not you.

Man, am I allowed to say it, but I’m glad Simpson is gone. He wasn’t a miami guy in any sense of the word. Didn’t wanna be here. Came because Pricht. Was goin anyhow. Don’t know about his successor but the spot will eventually end up being held by a great recruiter who can also coach. Just better to move on so he didn’t quit next December and ***** up recruiting in ‘20.
