Jeremey Pruitt interested...

We're not in a position to be hiring a coordinator as a head coach.

Pass.

Yea, we cant take the risk. Plus I dont know if Pruitt has shown enough to warrant getting the job, isnt he struggling in UGA? Sure he wants to bail while his name is semi hot and hoping he can Golden his way to a better gig.

There are good candidates out there with coaching experience. Only DC I give a look to would be Venables and that is because he has experience as a DC working in cohesion with an open explosive offense. Most DC are comfortable with that but he should be having worked with bradford record setting Oklahoma teams and now Clemson spread. But unfortunately he is down list as we cant really take the chance.

he is far from struggling at UGA...he has had two top 20 defenses in a row

I think this would be a tremendously risky hire. I would easily pass.

Pruitt needs to see what recently most other **** college coordinators have done first. Go to an inferior program and learn.

Montgomery (Tulsa)
Fuentes (Memphis)
Morris (SMU)
Herman (Houston)

He's a good DC, but he needs to prove himself elsewhere as a HC. We shouldn't be the HC training wheels place.

Pruitt is not a good guy, and his 1 year of great defense at FSU was built by Mark Stoops.

After that 1 year he left FSU in a scandalous way with all kinds of rumours floating around.

No current college defensive coordinator should be considered for the job.....PERIOD

They simply do not make good college head coaches.

You win in college football with dynamic fast paced offense.

Also, Pruitt is a grade A scumbag. He was run out of Tally for having an affair with a coed.

Oh my. Lets give Mr Pruitt the TEST:

Butch Davis built the greatest team in football history; began repeating that at UNC; wants to work for us.

So, my questions regarding Jeremy are:

1. Is Jeremy better than Butch? No.
2. Is Jeremy equal to Butch? No.

Fuggetabouit!

I'm full on board with Butch but let's be real can we trust the administration to give us what WE want. I feel they want a younger coach who will be a splash hire in the likes of Herman. Butch Davis would be a splash hire because of his pedigree but who knows if they will give him a shot

i didn’t understand a word you said it sounded like you was gagging on something?

He got crushed by Bama and then they blew a 21 point lead @ Tenn and lost...

Probably a good coach. I don't know anything about him. But, this is no time for experimentation. This is the most important hire since Howard.
Coker, Randy and Golden have created a decade of negative scar tissue on the Miami program. It's time to buck up and and pay for the best possible HC coach with a known high quality pedigree, record and a strong knowledge of the Culture of TheU.

Last year his defense gave up 21.7 ppg against I-A teams and 23.6 against power 5 conference teams and 24.9 against SEC teams. This year it's 20 ppg against I-A teams, and 21.2 aagainst SEC teams, but those SEC teams are USC, Vandy, Mizzou, Tenn. and Bama. Not impressed.

I think Pruitt would kill it here. He would fix our defense and he's the best recruiter in the country.

Pittsburgh hired a defensive coordinator with no experience and they are happy they did. Ditto for TCU and Utah. For every Will Muschamp, there is a Bob Stoops.

With that said, I think the administration will place an emphasis on head coaching experience.

They will pick schiano most likely if they are doing that

Georgia went from 84th to 16th in scoring defense in his first year. They went from 118th in takeaways to 15th. The year before, he had the #1 defense in the country at FSU.

Agree..I want a defensive minded coach. If you can create an elite defense in college you will win a ton of games.

So does that place guys like Herman/Fuente on a lower tier do you think?

Look at the talent he was given at FSU. Also, Grantham was the DC before him at UGA. That's like No D for us. And Alabama and Tennessee made him look like a high school coach. Just sayin.

I honestly didnt look at stats, maybe not the best idea. I just never see UGA playing well in big games. Maybe it has nothing to do with him tho. UGA always seems to be a top team in season then they underachieve

Fine, go to Pitt and do it. Go to NCST or UVA or any other program not Miami. Go learn how to be a HC. Morris, Fuente, Montgomery and Herman are doing just that.

We need to minimize risk, not take on more.
