Jeremey Pruitt interested...

I think Pruitt would kill it here. He would fix our defense and he's the best recruiter in the country.

Pittsburgh hired a defensive coordinator with no experience and they are happy they did. Ditto for TCU and Utah. For every Will Muschamp, there is a Bob Stoops.

With that said, I think the administration will place an emphasis on head coaching experience.

Look at the talent he was given at FSU.

FSU had talent last year and they fell to 54th in the nation in scoring defense. Losing Pruitt killed them.

I think everyone carries risk. Mid-major coaches bust all the time. I just want them to pick the best candidate instead of reacting to what happened with Coker, Shannon and Golden. Because that approach will get us Chud, Cristobal or Schiano.

FSU always has talent, but they lost a lot from 2013 to 2014. Either way, I started this by saying I was not impressed by him at UGA, which I am not.

FOR THE LAST TIME.. we are not hiring a coordinator or a guy who's never been a HC.. btw i don't think fuente or herman get an interview, there not seasoned enough, we're not going to risk it with them

Not for nothing but Narduzzi was DC for 14 years and had a tremendous LONG track record with defenses. He coached under Dantonio for 11 years.

When Pitt took him, that was something that Pitt should do. They need someone who can come in and is willing to build while learning on the job. That isn't something that Miami should do. We have the talent, we have something built and we have a program. Pitt is nothing like Miami.

There is a reason why the recent trend is for **** coordinators to get experience at sub P5 schools. Pruitt isn't special (as in he shouldn't get an opportunity at Miami now) and he isn't as qualified as Narduzzi. Pruitt has been a DC for 3 years at 2 schools.

If a school like NCST or Iowa State wants to take a chance on a 41 year old, so be it. They can take the chance. They need talent and they have the time to give a first time HC while he learns how to be a HC.

That doesn't mean Pruitt can't do it, I just think it is way too risky.

yeah but so did losing their best DL (Jernigan), LBs and DB.

On the d-line, FSU's had numerous 4 and 5 stars on the d-line in their recruiting classes since Jimbo's been there.

It's true but Jernigan was a beast. Goldman was disappointing and McDaniel was another 5 star kid that left after the 2013 season. Edwards was the main one that returned on that 2014 team but you can't tell me he was a world beater.

No. Miami isn't a place for someone to find out if they can be a good HC or not.

Shannon and Coker already tried that and it didn't end well either time...

Only someone with HC experience.....

Georgia assistant Jeremy Pruitt would 'jump' at UM, UCF jobs

Miami has a lot of intriguing options in this coaching search to say the least. Im glad golden is gone, the best thing he did is leave some talented pieces on the roster for the next coach.

I always thought Jeremy pruitt was good, he turned fsu's defense into one of the best in the nation, since he left they haven't been no where near where he had them. Now he is at Uga and they were ranked in the bottom half of defense before he got there now he has fielded 2 top 15 defenses and they are agressive

So, you are saying we would have a 50% chance of ending up with a Muschamp if we go with a DC?

I would like to see somebody who has proven himself as a winning head coach in the major leagues or the NFL. Pagano, Dantonio, Chip Kelly. Of course Butch, especially with a young guy like Cristobal as a coach-in-waiting.
