Jennings

Just came across this on YouTube from the NC State game .

What can Baker actually call to hide this type of linebacker play ? Look at Jennings in these plays man lord have mercy

A and b gap always has to be accounted for..at least that’s what I learned. Our weak side lbs too many times are slow to react and allow the line to get on them at the 2nd level..u watch 55 last year and how he played in the booth. And how 56 would quickly diagnose and react either front sid or backside. Or guys lack instincts at times. And it’s not just 44

I hate to pile on, but a lot of that is basic high school football I learned years ago as a high school outside LB. That is, pursue the RB from the back hip and fill the gap. It looks like he's not making any reads and is just running with the flow of the offensive line over pursuing the play.

It's pretty bad. It's time to make that change. I don't know how any coach or player can watch that film on Sundays and not say WTF!!!!

team america vomit GIF

that’s tough to watch.

You should be able to diagnose most plays presnap just from watching a lot of game film. This ish' is really bad.

Can you imagine what opposing teams think when they watch Miami film? The coaches are going to call plays knowing the LBs won't be there to make the play.

This makes me sick to my stomach with VT averaging nearly 300 yards per game running the ball. It could be a long day unless the coaches make some personnel changes.

McCloud is awful, we all know that. Jennings is a disappointment and not showing improvement

Does Brooks (board fav) look any better? Honestly asking cuz havent seen him do **** either in multiple games

Huff cant get on the field

Flagg is a true frosh and maybe the best we have (sad state of affairs) but he will always be a bit limited by his size/speed

No T2 coming

Whats the answer here fellas? Cuz its looking rough now & for next year as well...

Brooks isn't any better in terms of diagnosing plays right now. But as a former edge rush, at least he won't let the OL blow him up. And he's in a different league entirely athletically. So he is already instantaneously better overall, even if he's going to make a lot mistakes. Kid needs to take over now and get more snaps so he can grow into the role.

I like the 2 guys we've got coming in, especially Johnson. And I'm not sure Chase Smith doesn't grow into a true LB over time. It's a good class. T2 or Hood need to be part of it though.

Idk If it’s them not diagnosing presnap..you look at those first few plays, 44 is reacting but his running with his shoulders parallel to the LOS..that’s a big no no. 6 is also late to react, this allows the Line to get to the 2nd level and get a block on him. Look there no doubt our LBs are more athletic then last years group. But if your not reacting your just playing slow. I knew the drop off from 55 especially would be drastic so I’m personally not at surprised...a lot of ppl on this board Owe shaq a personal apology for the scrutiny he unfairly received here at times. This is what All American level play for 2 years loos like when’s its replaced by avg starter level play

Maaan I remember Cribby telling us he was balling during camp. Obviously thats info he heard from someone on the inside, what the **** were these coaches seeing? That to me is the scary part, we got Helen Keller running the D and coaching linebackers.

I took Cribby on for that, which I never do, LOL. But Jennings was such an obvious bum to me as a recruit that I could not believe it was possible he could be a baller. Passable, maybe. But baller, never ever.

No bro! Our defense gives up the same yards per play as #1 Alabama!
Crazy stat, considering we playing wit maybe 9 **** players, right? That’s kinda impressive honestly, if you really think about it. 🤣😂🤣

the whole LB core has let the defense down

No cap; all I kept hearing in my head seeing Jennings get washed out was Street Fighter, when your player gets knocked out and they make that echo groaning sound. Lol

Flat footed, out of position, washed, inability to change direction, hitting wrong holes. Sheesh. Talk about low lights for scouts to view.
