I don't know why the **** we're talking politics on a Canes site, but when in Rome...

Ocasio-Cortez won election because she pandered to those voters by promising them a bunch of free stuff she had absolutely no idea how she'd pay for. Free college! Free health care! Higher wages! Lower rent! It was like an Oprah TV show where everyone gets a car. Of course that lead to her getting a ton of votes. However, the estimated cost of all she promised was 40 TRILLION dollars. Yes, with a "T". When she was asked how she would pay for that all, this was literally her reply:

"People often say, like, how are you going to pay for it and I find the question so puzzling because ‘How do you pay for something that’s more affordable? How do you pay for cheaper rent?’ You just pay for it,” she said. “We’re paying more now.”

Just chew on that for a minute. She literally answered the question from the lens of how would the people getting free stuff pay less for their free stuff. Hence, why she found it so puzzling. "How will they pay for cheaper rent? You just pay for it! We're already paying more now". Good lord. Uhhh, no, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, we mean where will the $40 trillion come from so that those people get all that free stuff? Because, well, you know, nothing is actually "free".

Anyone can stir up support by promising people a bunch of free stuff. Of course, little (see: none) of that will she actually be able to deliver to her constituents now that she is in office. Because it was all pipe dreams, BS fluff she said to stir up support and votes for her. So, forgive me if I don't find that "remarkable".

I wont discuss my personel life but hes helped me and im a minority and the struggle is real. Hes already helped me big time life changing. Ill leave it at that....no matter who is in that white house i root for them to do well. Im not a rep or a dem (used to be) i just go by who i think is best. I try to look at it as we all on the same team. The hate though is whats building up and its whats bad for the country and thats on both sides from people that cant get there emotions in check. They let hate nlind there opinions and judgements

You think she's the first politician to pander to her constituents in that district?

She out hustled and worked her opponent who didn't take her seriously.

Didn't even want to debate her.

I'm not a Trump guy (even though he's light years better than what Clinton would have been) and there are many things he does that offend my moderate conservative senses...................................with that said even he isn't a good comparison for how misguided and dangerous having AOC in the position she's in (and continuing to trend toward) is. Trump at least has legitimate experience and success in certain areas of importance to our country where as AOC brings nothing to the table outside of a feel good story that will eventually turn to disaster.

Yes, I absolutely do think she is the first politician to promise the constituents in that district $40 trillion in free handouts with no idea as to where that money would come from. And I think it's a sad reflection of those voters that they couldn't see through the smoke and realize that none of her promises had any basis in reality whatsoever.

What experience is Trump bringing ?

Being a billionaire (largely inherited) does not automatically qualify you for public office. Look at the ongoing disaster w Howard Schultz for example.

Trump literally believes we have jets that can turn invisible. Not like stealth jets, but like fill scale cloaking devices. He cannot tell you how insurance works, or the difference between weather and climate, But AOC is dangerous???

Agree, Socialism is a death trap for this country economically and her promising all this free stuff is a fairy tail. Her ignorance on these issues as a direct correlation to her false promises is only the surface of how dangerous having someone like her in high political standing will be.

Remarkable??? She promised lazy people and illegals free stuff. That’s it. She has no way to pay for any of it. It’s ridiculous.

I may be in the minority on this one....I know this is going to be controversial....I hope I don't get banned from CIS for saying this....But, I thought Pure Platinum was better than Solid Gold back in the day....
