Jeff Thomas tweet

DJ Williams was going to quit and go back to California and he was starting Full Back. Just give it time.

No idea what that tweet is about because I hate that sort of vague pvssy talk. That's for 14 year old chicks.

However, it's clear that Thomas is playing slow. He's either thinking too much or is nervous because he's playing nowhere near his actual physical capacity. His adversity might soon be that he's removed from kick return duties because he's showing none of the high speed cutting ability or explosion that made him such a phenomenal prospect.

He just needs to relax and play loose and it'll flow.

I haven't gone back and looked at him on passing routes so I don't know how he looks there, but got this feeling in the back of my head like he's hurt. He looks horrible one kick returns, and he's going down very easily. Just a hunch, I'm probably wrong, but it just looks like somebody that's about 80% because of a groin or some kind of muscle pull that doesn't keep you out but slows you down

He missed a few assignments against Duke, and you could see Richt was not happy. If he starts playing less it will be because of that in my opinion.

Just a guess, but it seems like his hamstring still isn't 100%, and that's causing him to play tentative

Give it some time. The game needs to slow down for him. I haven't noticed anything spectacular regarding his speed yet. He just needs some time. Wasn't he an All State corner too? It is super early but maybe he is better off on D.

Hester was a once in a lifetime talent. Guy ran a kickoff return for a TD his first play as a true freshman. Remember though that other than returns, where he was spectacular, he never found a position to fit his talents. Thomas I hope will find his nitch as a slot wr with the ability to take one to the house at any point. He has studs in front of him producing atm so his reps are limited. Let’s be patient.
Hester's first return went for about 25 yards, his second around 50 then his third went for a touchdown against the gators. Then the rest of the year he was pretty unspectacular. People seem to think Hester was all world his freshman year but he wasn't. Aside from the opening kickoff against the gators he didn't do much at all. Give Thomas time he is used to being the fastest dude in the field by far and now there are guys everywhere that can hang with him. He'll adjust, **** he's been open just hasn't been targeted much yet
You are incorrect, the first play of the game against the Gators, Hester ran that back for a TD.

How does any self-respecting Canes fan not know that Hester opened that game with a TD return?

I think you guys are arguing two different things. I think Dutch is saying his returns overall (not by game). Your original post reads as if you were saying that his first play ever as a true freshman was a kick return for a TD against the Gators.

If he is counting practices then I guess he could have a point. I'm talking about what matters, games. Who the f--- counts practices?

His first returns were against La Tech.

Hester's first 2 KR's were in the 1st 2003 game @ Louisiana Tech

His first KR at home was the TD vs. UF, the 2nd game of the 2003 season.

Comparing Thomas to the best Kick Returner of all-time isn't fair. Thomas is already averaging 22 yds a return, which is more than Berrios & Lewis averaged last year.

The big plays will come for Thomas, just gotta be patient.

LOL. So I guess you were saying games. Welp, you'd be wrong.

star freshmen being frustrated with lack of performance or play isn't anything new. what is new, is they all have this platform to let the world know what they are thinking all the time.

What is also new are "Fans" following said star freshman and hanging on every tweet/post to analyze and assume. You all literally have NO IDEA what hes speaking on.

This

I think everyone should take a step back and let the 18 year old tweet without trying to decode everything he says. You all have zero idea what this kid is speaking on.

You guys do remember that we played La Tech before the gators that year.
