Agree. And I've always thought there was something kind of dark and edgy about him. And angry. IDK. Just my impression from his social media posts and some of his interviews. I could see that being a concern , especially after his issues at Va Tech.
Seriously,
Hardly a shock that Hill didn't get drafted. Tons of kids out there with talent, all vying for a few slots to play at the sport's highest position. No one would say a lick about the guy if he stayed at Virginia Tech for one more season and didn't get drafted—but because he came to Miami and played on a garbage 6-7 team, their opinion of him is higher?
Fact is, there are character flaws (based on his exit from the Hokies) and you can bet any interested teams reached out to Fuente to ask what happened—just like others reached out to Diaz or Richt about Jeff Thomas.
News flash; this is a business and the same way teams wouldn't touch Kaepernick because they didn't want bad press—they're not going to bring in troubled guys, unless the risk is worth the reward.
Thomas is a talented kid that's been riding his talent since high school. His work ethic and attitude both suck—and he's a team cancer; called out by teammates mid-season for his entitled and lazy ways.
Kid blew his first and second shots at Miami and wound up losing reps to a 2-Star transfer from Buffalo, who was a fifth round pick—where he easily could've gone if he had half of Osborn's work ethic, driver or leadership qualities.
No offense, but I'm glad to see a kid like Thomas not get drafted—a team rewarding his God-given talent and not holding him accountable for ****ing away his college career.
Hopefully he'll learn some life lessons sooner than later, or it's going to be a sad ending for a kid like that.
