Coach JB Smoove doing an in-home recruiting visit would be comedy gold.
Would give moms that pipe and get all the LOIs.

Dude coached a squad that beat Alabama, that's good enough for me.I don’t know anything about him, but from what I’ve read. IMO he would be the best OL coach we had since Stoutland..who people also hated, so fan opinion doesn’t really mean ****.
There are plenty of good coaches who haven't beat Bama. Him putting together a Top 30 OL is much more impressive than "beating Bama".Dude coached a squad that beat Alabama, that's good enough for me.
Lulz yet Auburn is one of only 2 teams that have beaten them a few times. Alabama is absolutely loaded with freaks and had the #1 class like 5 years straight. An OL that went toe to toe with them is bigly. There are plenty of good coaches who haven't beat Bama. Him putting together a Top 30 OL is much more impressive than "beating Bama".
Is he a good enough tactician to make up for his abysmal recruiting? We are currently chock full of **** recruiters. In order to justify another bad one, he’d have to a monster teacher/technician.
I don’t want to just grab guys the OC knows without taking a shot at the best possible candidates first.
I understand that the the NFL and college game are different but our biggest issue seems to be technique. Seems like an old timer who's probably learned so many variations of offense would be a good fit for a few years to get our young fellas up to speed. JMO .JB Grimes was most likely on his way out at Auburn. Come on now you are using a 9 or 11 yr old references with Giants grey beard oline coach. Also the college game is different from the pros and requires way more energy and vigilance.
Look at Auburn's oline recruiting class for 2020 it was sad considering they had a good season and have Bagmen. Grimes was a lazy recruiter for the 2020 class given the OL available this year throughout the south.
Go Canes

Fwiw, Just from some initial twitter glancing, majority of AU fans seem to be glad, said he was underwhelming and their OL wasn't where it needed to be. Says he stepped down to "pursue other opportunities". Not sure if that means he won't be coaching football or if he left for another job? Definitely makes you think about him and UM though. I guess we will see.
* I would pay to see his reaction when/if he came in and saw the OL "talent" on this team though.
We said the same about Richt as an OC & HC too. Then got Diaz and Enos.To answer your question, no. No one can be worse BUT we said the exact same thing about Searles. Atleast Searles recruited, sometimes lol. And being better than Barry shouldn't be the litmus test. How about we just fire Barry first though. WTF is the hold up here?
As if Minnesota wasn't a top ranked team smh.The auburn OL got worked by the gophers in their bowl. Pass
As a gophers fan and native Minnesotan who watched all of their games I’ll say that the MN DL was not very good. Their LBs and Winfield JR were what saved them often times. That game the DL ateAs if Minnesota wasn't a top ranked team smh.
