Jaynard Bostwick

Would be a big pull if we can get him in Miami

Very young DT group

FR Kendrick Norton
FR RJ McIntosh
FR Ryan Fines
SO Courtel Jenkins
SO Anthony Moten
SO Gerald Willis (Transfer from UF)
RS SO Jaynard Bostwick (Transfer from UF) * Not official
SR Calvin Heurtelou
SR Michael Wyche

Let me correct your list for you!

FR RJ McIntosh - is a Strong Side D-End - needs to redshirt in 2015
SO Gerald Willis (Transfer from UF) - is a Strong Side D-End
RS SO Jaynard Bostwick (Transfer from UF) * Not official - is a Strong Side D-End or DT depending on the front or down

So with those corrections that leaves the following interior dline players (aka your DT's or NT's)
FR Kendrick Norton - needs to redshirt in 2015
FR Ryan Fines - needs to redshirt in 2015
SO Courtel Jenkins
SO Anthony Moten
SR Calvin Heurtelou
SR Michael Wyche

Which leaves 4 players available for the 2015 interior rotation plus DT/NT Earl Moore.

That's not true!

Kid is JUCO bound.

Why would the kid go Juco if he can come to Miami and yes he would sit out a year but he would be close to home an his little daughter (i believe he has). An Miami needs interior dline bodies for next year so it is a win win situation for the transfer.

Please share a little more insight into the information your sharing.

Sure.

He hasn't been involved with the team or been in school since January of this year according to most reports.

You still need a minimum number of credits and an acceptable GPA to transfer into Miami.

He has neither.

He can always come to Miami - but at a later date. It won't be this year.

I haven't seen one report that says he hasn't been in school for 6-7 months. Not with with team? Sure. But nothing on him being out of school.

Exactly my thoughts as well, and I hoping our assumptions are correct. Here is an article outlining him leaving UF an not being with the team for spring, but it didn't say he had left the school for the semester or took time off.

The article references quotes from UF's dline coach saying Bostwick could be back before the spring game is played, which shows he was still enrolled in school and attending classes just not participating in football activities.

Florida DT Jay-nard Bostwick out with "personal issues"

Florida DT Jay-nard Bostwick out with "personal issues"
By Thomas Goldkamp - Apr 9, 2015

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida has been without redshirt sophomore Jay-nard Bostwick during spring practice, and his status moving forward is unclear as he deals with personal matters.

"He’s handling some things personally right now," coach Jim McElwain said. "Once he gets those handled then we’ll kind of measure it from there."

Bostwick has not played much for Florida, seeing action in just five games and recording three tackles in 2014. He redshirted during the 2013 season.

He also served a one-game suspension for the Idaho game for an undisclosed violation of team rules. That game was canceled after just one play but still counted as time served for Bostwick.

McElwain refused to term Bostwick's absence a suspension. He did the same with Chris Thompson, who's "excused from the team" while dealing with a charge for misdemeanor simple battery.

"He’s dealing with some personal issues right now and I respect that and we’ll see how that time works out," McElwain said of Bostwick.

Defensive line coach Chris Rumph was equally evasive on Bostwick's status when asked earlier this spring.

"Jaynard is, I think he’s injured or something, I don’t know what’s going on with him but he’s out," Rumph said on March 27. "He may be back before the spring game is out."

In any case, Bostwick certainly looks like a player to keep an eye on for a possible transfer.

McElwain touched on the possibility of a few players leaving following the spring semester when asked about it Thursday.

"I’m sure there might be," the first-year coach said. "I certainly want all these guys to be here and yet that’s a personal choice and decision that they’re going to have to make. I mean, we’d sure like to have them all here."

Here is the video interview of UF dline Coach Chris Rumph discussing Jaynard Bostwick at the 6:30 mark.

I already provided a definitive answer on this.

He's not coming here.

/Where's DBC to tell me I'm an idiot for thinking the kid is not coming here!?

****...some insider on Canesport said it! IT.MUST.BE.TRUE.

Well canesport talked to his dad and he said he has an offer and this is were his son wants to go. Looks like he will be a Cane shortly.

His dad called up a station a couple years back saying how muschamp lied to him on how miami would get the death penalty if not his son would be a cane
Muschamp did not lie. Golden is the death penalty.

This sounds like good news. Adding both Bostwick and Willis in the off-season would be a needed boost to depth and quality....

Just read the article and it sounds encouraging, next coach is going to have a **** of a D Line next year!

He has a offer and is just waiting to finalize a few things. He will play DT/DE the same position as Ufomba Kamalu, Anthony Moten & RJ McIntosh.

From his dad "Thats our number 1 priority, to get him down to The U"
