Jason Taylor appreciation thread

And Heatherman (duh)

I know it’s obvious but last year there was a huge disconnect between Guidry and the DL coaches. It was a big problem

This year these dudes were obviously on the same page
Agreed but he's not teaching technique. The work JT put in with Bain and Mesi and clearly the rest of those guys made them what they were.
Moten's growth has been mind blowing too. Kids should be on every first team AA list.

Jason and Damione both deserve a ton of praise.

The next to break out IMO is Justin Scott. He’s going to be a grown *** man next season and show why these 5 stars are so important.
I agree that Justin Scott will breakout next season. I also think that Marquise Lightfoot, Armando Blount and Hayden Lowe also breakout in addition to Ahmad Moten and Damon Wilson being dominant. This is the best Defensive Line in the nation next season and that's after losing Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor. What does that tell you? Jason Taylor and Damione Lewis have been an amazing duo on the DL. It's not just the players. It's the players plus the coaching.

Id like to hope JT is happy just being the DE coach for many years.

Money is not a factor for him.

But, does he have the ambition to move up the ladder? If so, I fully expect him to be a DC somewhere after next year. If we want to keep him, he might have to be Weathermans successor.

I know its a big call but every now and then Blount reminds me of Bain.

Could just be the DL w/ stockier build but I think he could make a leap...
I think he’s like Bain, but bigger and seems to be more willing to play inside. He has a nasty side that I love. Will he be Bain? No. Bain is 1/1. But I think he has All-American potential long term.

Oh the lies told about JT when Guirdy was DC. I kept telling people that wasn't what JT wants to coach.

I hope JT realizes he could be here for a long time and be happy. I know the Phins job is something he's wanted but he's such a great recruiter that I think he's happy here.
