I think most of us know this will be the “turning point” of the class where we limp to the finish line

The class is currently MUCH better than it should be at this point considering we’ve had 1 semi-good football team in these kids lives. Yeah you read that right. Think about it.

And it’s a fantastic class at the moment. Jason Marshall doesn’t change that. Now man the eff up dude, you sound like a little girl.

C’mon man, when was the first time u thought we were getting Marshall?

Maybe the kid was going Miami and a dip**** ruined his moment...but if he goes right back to the $EC...that verbal was **** anyway.
I thought we'd get him when our guys said as much.

I had a bad feeling once he didn't pop last week but still thought he'd commit.

It does genuinely feel like he was trolling us the whole time - I get trolling a different city/program but to your hometown team?

I never said it isn’t a good class. This call out culture on here is outrageous. All of us on here are die hard fans which means we all know we haven’t closed well on signing day in a long time. Manny wanted this class locked up by end of August according to the insiders on here. I don’t see that happening which means we will be fighting it out until singing day for a few. That hasn’t equated to much success for us in recent years. Marshall popping to florida Out of the blue isn’t a good start.

You're being called out because you sound ridiculous. Come on, man. Have some perspective. A kid committed to the gator so that means it's a "turning point" where we limp to the finish? Why? Because a 5-star CB went elsewhere? We don't land 5 star CBs. We haven't in a decade. So why does this automatically mean bad news for the rest of the class and cycle? We have been behind for Jason Marshall for basically the entire duration of his recruitment. It's your fault you thought that someone posting on a free internet message board made that different. You got sold a dream....it happens, we all want to believe we're getting every kid. But stop believing what you read on the internet. If Jason Marshall would've just committed to UF or Bama months ago like it looked like he was going to, would that mean this class "limps to the finish"??

Of course not. This doesn't change a thing. Because, again, WE DON'T LAND ELITE CORNERS. MIKE RUMPH IS OUR CB COACH.

But, if you want to be optimistic...he didn't sign **** last night. So we have 4 months to try to flip him. In the meantime, have some perspective. We had a losing record and got shutout by Louisiana Tech 8 months ago. And we have multiple 5 star kids committed, a Top 10 class, and several other excellent prospects on the wire. "Losing" Jason Marshall is a drop in the bucket. We're not losing football games because we can't cover people....we'll be fine. But sack up and understand the job this staff has done to this point, because it's been VERY impressive.

Everyone throwing out this is missing the point. This one was different. He was penciled in by MANY to commit to us. This isn’t your average elite corner that Rumph and company chase only to finish 3rd. This kid was predicted by many to commit here. Also has 3 teammates committed here. This one was different and was going to be a turning point. Also momentum. We lossed it. UF has gained it when collier announces for them today. So many preach “Momentum is huge in recruiting” only when we’re the ones that have momentum

Um Rumph has been here longer was the head coach of a local high school that had five star cbs and we got none.

In fact we never really in it even with the one that thought of him as a father figure.

If you don’t “see” that get some glasses.

The last time he coached either of those kids was in the 9th or 10th grade. You also fail to mention the coach who took over for him at that local high school (Heritage), was Patrick Surtain, the father of one of those 5 stars. May have slipped your mind this kid worshipped Patrick Peterson and both his parents are from Louisiana, and for his entire recruitment he looked to be an LSU lock.

You also fail to mention the family of the second corner was actively shopping their son to the highest bidder, something we can't compete with, and that he never showed much or any interest in UM.

You're being that guy dude. Don't be that guy.
