Reading between the lines on this one, it’s probably accurate we would have taken both Spafford and Lopez. However, once Spafford committed, I would guess the NIL deal on the table for Lopez probably wasn’t great. So, he jumped at FSU.

We just flipped WR’s from Tennessee and Georgia. That wasn’t cheap. Maybe the coaches are off, but they seem to think they can get Keys. That’s expensive. How much of the budget can go to Lopez who also wants to play basketball?

What has to be factored in as well, is that we have an extremely WR friendly Offense. It's not like it was during the Enox days; we have a plug & play Offense that's predicated more on QB play than needing to have great WR's in order to excel.

It's a system that is far more pliable for multiple types/styles of WR's that can fit & be productive.

Which means, you're not going to be paying mid-level talent top dollar, when you can just find a prospect out the Portal for a much more bargained price.

You only expenditure major NIL capital on big time sure-fire NFL potential prospects.

If people are being honest, does anybody think this kid is a sure-fire NFL potential prospect? And I mean like being drafted above the 6th round?

I’m with you. I like Lopez as a prospect. He’s good. He’s not great though. Vance Spafford is legit fast fast. I’ll pay him. Another 5-10 guy who wants to play basketball? Lukewarm.

And I appreciate Jai Lucas being a team player and lending a hand here and with Russell, but look who he is offering. He has zero interest in either of those two playing for him.

And the players know the UM basketball coach is only making these offers as part of the package deal as neither was offered purely for basketball. And the truth is there is no chance Lucas was making a hard sell for either. For anyone who has been through recruiting themself or with a family member, it is pretty obvious which coach wants you, and which coach really, really wants you. The energy between the 2 examples is dramatically different.

If the staff is correct that they can/will flip Keys. Then, a Keys/Evans/Spafford WR class would be #1 in the country and would justify “missing” on the two guys who want to play basketball.

We will find out soon on Keys. They are 2/3 of the way there.

I commend you sir for the perfect use of pliable... think the last time I saw/read that word was on the SAT. Oh and the analysis is spot on as well.

this is what it is the scared of comp doesnt make sense because fsu has 4 committed wrs.

They maybe circle back if misson Keys/Russell or maybe not is my thinking.

My uninformed take, too. With Ray Ray, Toney, Johnson (who is a Junior) and now Spafford all with eligibility, they have enough slot receivers. Plus Carr could play slot. And we could use a TE out of the slot. More than enough options.

Go get Keys. That will cap the class.
