I agree, but let's not forget about N'kosi. I'm not writing him off like other people. Kid is talented. Obviously, needs maturity. Too many people look at his stats and say, "Oh, 50% passer. Let's move on." I say.no way. You can't write off a young QB with talent. Kid is accurate given time. Like most QBs he got inaccurate when the pocket was collapsing and gets a little jumpy. I saw a lot of good things from him, bit he must mature and take it to the next level. It should be interesting who emerges.
Martell won't be on campus until he graduates from OSU this Spring semester. It will be interesting to see whose on top after the Spring, but I bet the OC will pull a Richt move and say both kids are close and no one has separated. This way it keeps everyone engaged so they won't transfer. There'll be a 3-4 way competition in Fall camp and the starter won't be named until after Fall enrollment. Again, to prevent any transfers before the 2019 season starts. We will lose 2-3 QBs at the end of the 2019 season mark my word. Our QB situation has issues because all the guys are separated by 1 year of eligibility or less. That means a mass exodus after the 2019 season that I alluded to earlier.
It will be interesting to se what happens if Martell is not the starter. I'm sure Brevin told him he'd be the the best QB on campus, but I personally don't believe he us. I think Perry has the most arm talent and Jarren is the most accurate, but we haven't seen much from Jarren. As I said, it's easy to discount Perry, but you have to ask yourself, "What would any of the QBs have done in our offense last year." Guys were not getting open and the offensive line was terrible which makes the QB look bad.
The good news is we get to see apples against apples. Each guy will get to run with the 1's in camp. Our team will benefit because someone will elavate their game to become the starter. Let's see how things play out.
